Blue Moon Playlist Review Club - Season 2 - Episode 27 - Out on blue 6 - Gone Too Soon (pg 438)

Why are you lonely?

They don't have a song called Subdued Boy, unfortunately.

It is more a tone thing, than a description.

What I quite like about this theme is the unpredictability. Normally I write out a wee shortlist for the week ahead, and work through it. But now I have no idea what will be the song of tomorrow, or what my mood will be.

I do the same and have a list prepared from which I choose the daily song , this needs far more thought, which is good.

I’ve recently had a falling out with a friend and this also ties in with the current album on the other thread.
‘Believe’ Bernard Fanning

Don't tell him Pike.

Bimbo says he wasn't promising anything interesting for the theme and then comes up with a Lecteresque scheme to get inside our heads. Genius.

It is interesting. I will go with a true and honest reflof my daily mood at the time. But then at the end of the week I can look back at it and see what curve my mood took through the days of the week. Then next week I can see if there is a pattern.

And then I might ask you to graph it for me.

I feel this one is more to listen to as they come in each day, than saving all up for the second week.

I was actually being sincere... I thought that was a cool read on the song title.

Oops, sorry mate. I misread the wink at the end. I suppose it was a reflection of the fact that I was aware I'd made the comment without explaining myself any further and so in my own head it did actually look a bit crass.

Now do I know any songs where the mood is contrite?

This weeks...or 2 weeks playlist is...

How Are You Feeling Songs

A little something different this week as I thought we could do a playlist based on your current mood/ feelings. Are you in pain? Hungry? Morose? Happy? Full of joy? Cheerful? Morrissey? Had a bad day? A great day? Simply pick a track to highlight your mood at time of posting based on the song title/ contents. Consider it a little bit of therapy. Open your collective hearts. Let's all have a chat. Apparently it's good for you. Just post your song and have a little rant/moan/happy post about the way you are feeling.
First one that comes to mind right now...

Genesis - Misunderstanding

Not my favorite song, but it's easy pickings and Genesis > The Animals for me.

No worries, I'll take one for the team on this. I've had numerous "alternate" song titles, some of which I'd never be brave to share here.

Alright, screw it.

Family lore is when I played TtWS's "Fly From Heaven" and my kids when younger, we'd call that song "Paulie's Making Me Nervous".

Well, my nephew's name is Paul and it's now become his nickname from all of us. Even now at 17 he doesn't seem to have outgrown it. My brother/his dad is a big TtWS fan too, so it's become both our families' inside joke and an ode to a song we all enjoy.

See, even got you the same band for an example on this of silly alternate titles.

Foo Fighters: “Exhausted”.

The end of a tiring difficult couple of weeks was topped off by a near sleepless night.

We spent the weekend moving loads of possessions into furnished rental accommodation about 10 miles from our actual home, which we had to vacate in a hurry due to the possibility of sewer flooding - thanks River Thames & Thames Water. Whilst the water didn’t come through the floors it came within millimetres of doing so. Consequently the house is not currently habitable, in fact it is full of industrial strength dehumidifying equipment and the scent of a swamp.

We’ve spent the last two weeks living with our very wonderful neighbours whilst the insurance company sorted out alternative accommodation.

All very stressful and unsettling, and not just for the humans: our dogs woke me up barking at about 2 a.m. and not much sleep was had thereafter. An early night beckons.
