Blue Moon Top 100 Bands Artists - Full List of Artists (pg 287)

WZ was a very underrated song writer,at lot of his songs were very humerous as well as emotional.’Genius’ the best of WZ is well worth listening too
Also the documentary just before his death ‘keep me in your heart ‘ is both funny and sad.
He was a real hell raiser in his day, his Biography ‘I’ll sleep when I’m dead ‘ is really good read.
One of my biggest regrets was not seeing him at ‘The Lowry’ when I had tickets but couldn’t go.
Was just listening to the "Warren Zevon" album the other night, and I had forgotten about this gem from The French Inhaler:

Loneliness and frustration
We both came down with an acute case
When the lights came up at two
I caught a glimpse of you
And your face looked like something death brought with him in his suitcase

Have to say my favourite Zevon song is Werewolves, with Lawyers Guns & Money close behind.
Yep, LG&M is mine and one of my favo(u)rite tunes ever -- I love the lyrics. Zevon was unique. His last record when he knew he was dying is wonderful. I haven't seen the film about it but I should. Gone too soon.

Wasn't paying attention to this in time to submit but here are mine based on the unscientific criteria of "listened mostly/only to this artist for an extended period of time.

1) The Clash
2) Tupac Shakur.
3) Def Leppard (was young and rocked a Joe Elliot mullet as well.)
4) Rage Against the Machine.
5) Oasis
6) Rancid.
7) The Damned (saw them in 80s, 90s, and even 2019 in NYC).
8) Run DMC.
9) Metallica.
10) Notorious B.I.G. (this selection conflicts with #2 on this list.)
11) Rocket From the Crypt
12) Dropkick Murphys.
13) N.W.A. who I actually had a chance to see live in late 1989 with the entire original lineup and PASSED IT UP.
14) Smashing Pumpkins (saw them AND PEARL JAM as completely unknown opening acts for Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1991 I think.
15) Nirvana ( also saw when largely unknown.)

Seems like hip-hop fans are in short supply on this forum so that's me representing then!
Some good stuff in there but I've given you a like for listing one of my very favourite bands, The Damned. Dave Vanian is such a brilliant but very underrated lead singer, probably because they were never a mainstream band.

Yeah, Lawyers, Guns and Money is a great song. His version of Knocking on Heaven's Door from the last album still chokes me up when I hear it.
