Recently I have been getting the blue screen of death on my computer(a lenovo model). The error is apparently bugcode usb driver and my operating system is Windows 7. Does anyone of you know how to solve this? Any help is very much appreciated as I am sick of getting the blue screen all the time! Cheers.

Tell us the exact model of your Lenovo laptop and we should be able to find you the right drivers.

It is a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E320 I think. Cheers for the answer!

Hopefully this should help: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc ... h104ww.exe

Cheers, installing it now. But I get a message up that says that the software version I already have installed is newer then the one that I try to install now, should I still install it?

Try uninstalling the old ones first and rebooting, it may then re-install the upto date version.

Usually it's not possibly to install older drivers over newer ones, but if you have buggy drivers then it's not exactly a comfort that they are more up-to-date. I don't have any recommendations for the moment but I'll give it a Google and see if any other users are experiencing this particular issue.

These are chipset drivers so I'd advice against an uninstall.

-- Tue Jul 30, 2013 5:20 pm --

OP, does this happen randomly or after it wakes from sleep? Also, are your Windows updates up-to-date?

It does happen very randomly. I can't see a connection between the blue screen and when I turn it on/off.

had the identical problem with a sony laptop. bizarrely, it turned out to be the cable connecting the hard drive wasn't connected properly
hope that helps

and your Windows updates?

If you mean the updates you find when you open "Windows Update", yes, I have installed all the updates I found there, both the ones that are marked as important and the ones that are recommended, but optional.

I'm going to have to do some more digging. Can't find many other complaints about this issue. Have you written down the exact error code from the BSOD?

But I will have to open the laptop then, and I can't say that I am very good with computers.

-- Tue Jul 30, 2013 7:50 pm --

The only thing I got the chance to read properly was the words "Bugcode_usb_driver". When it happens again I can try to take a picture or read more.

Right, will do some more digging after tea. If not, it might actually be worth installing the older drivers, if you can.

I actually got one right now, but I didn't get the time to take a picture. Why does it go away so quick? Any way to make it stay on screen for a few seconds more?

But I will have to open the laptop then, and I can't say that I am very good with computers.

be honest, i'd put money that is the problem. it drove me nuts for a year, and that is what the fault was, USB bugcode etc. good luck though lad, well annoying having a dodgy computer
if i was you, take it to a laptop repair shop. getting them to open it up and reconnect the hdd shouldn't cost bugger all. its not likely to be drivers, it will almost certainly be a hardware fault

You may very well be right there mate.
As this is a school computer, I will most likely(if I can't fix it myself) take it to the IT department on my school, as they are very good at fixing computers. They will also do it without any cost.

I don't feel comfortable telling you to play around with the drivers then, if it's not yours to play around with. I don't touch my dad's netbook for the same reason.
