They can catch when skated over the surface. Some of the most exciting fishing is to rip them back on a floating line and watch the bow wave behind them as the trout chases. They are also good with a washing line set up. Tie one on the point and a couple of buzzers or nymphs high in the water. The buoyancy of the booby keeps the buzzers in the top couple of feet of water when fish are feeding near the surface.Probably not, would just be good to bust one out
One of the reasons I like the big foamies is for doing that, in fact need to stock up again on bead heads as am getting lowThey can catch when skated over the surface. No, I have a lot of friends who are guides, tend to raid their supplies. I should start, there's a shop in town owned by Three River Ranch that have a fly tying evening all through the winter, all the supplies are right there and you bring your own beer.do you tie your own?
sounds good. Thats how I learned from others. Its like another hobby. With the lockdown I now have more flies than I could ever use. Probably now the most expensive piece of kit that I have from an insurance perspective. They sell them over here for £1.50 a fly. and I must have near as damn it 5000.No, I have a lot of friends who are guides, tend to raid their supplies.
