For bodybuilding, the regular "bench press" is not all its cracked up to be, though you will find they all use it."Vince gironda" a famous old trainer reckoned ,wide grip neck press on a bench ,and front dips ,with feet forward with chin on your chest were far better for building the " pecs " chest.

I don't get much pec activation on the flat barbell bench. Much better with dumbbells IMO, avoids shoulder irritation I get. Dips are excellent too.

Dont talk to me about shoulder probs. I go to an osteopath for mine.Got what you would call constant "toothache" pain in my left delt.Cant sleep on my left side, and 45 quid every time the doc treats me.

Yep 35 years of weights and boxing. That why you should use good form ,from the off, and leave your ego at home.

Absolutely.
I didn't initially, tried too much too fast and I hurt what I believe to be my rotator cuff. Its never been the same since (2 years after) and I hate myself for it!

Edit: Great dedication BTW. You any good at the old boxing?
(Just so I know not to get on your bad side ;). )

I've been putting it off for ages.
Think I will get it sorted though, I just hoped it would sort itself out!

Anyone one here run at all? I know this is probably more about X-Fit and Weight Training, just curious if anyone does more longer cardio stuff.
Yes I run 3 times a week for 25 mins, just after I finish my heavy bag work, though in this heat and at my age it aint easy.
I joined a trail running club a few months back, been loving it. My wife does marathons but I get way too disinterested running on the road. Join this club and never looked back. The pace is slower but you have to keep agile. It feels like a lot better workout than just hit the road for an abnormal amount of time. I cross train with road cycling two days a week, and then try and work on core another 1-2 days a week. Here was my run from this morning.

View this morning. Ended up going about 12 miles.
