Cheers mate.

Well I am really struggling as you can see with the skull crushers, lateral raise and also the barbell curl (Forgot to mention it was 15kg + bar)

My arms are just like jelly when I do a higher weight with those exercises, is there anything I can do bar take it slowly and just keep doing the weight I am now till it gets ok then move up a weight?

I had a mate called Ivon Jackson, tremendous physique, he won the junior Mr World at 19 a few years back, and he always trained biceps after chest, instead of tris, for that reason. He always said push pull did not work for him, so swap arms round for a bit, see what happens.

Skipping or jump rope, as the yanks call it,is one of the best things you can do.I always do 3x 3 min rounds before every workout.

Also you can always,"Pre-Exhaust" the muscle, isolation movement before a compound movement,ie dumbell flys before bench press, side lats before press behind neck.Google it,they explain it better than me.

-- Mon Jul 29, 2013 1:24 pm --

I'm starting to get back into a fitness routine. Basically I used to go to the gym 4-5 times a week and was in really good shape. Then I went on my travels and was still keeping fit, doing a lot of running and resistance work. But been about a year since I did anything resembling exercise now and over christmas piled on the pounds enjoying seeing family and friends again having returned back to England. Got a new job and didnt kerb my eating so noticed a month or so back and thought wait a sec need to stop now. Always been sporty but hit that stage of life now where time to exercise is a bit harder to come by.

Basically not joining a gym as I could only go at peak times and it is ridiculously busy. So been going out for a run 3-4 times a week and I have all the dumbbell/bar bell bench kit from when I used to work out a lot. Eat pretty healthily but mainly been concentrating on cardio. Not finding I am losing much weight, I used to find it really easy and could shed the pounds quite quickly.
I try to dedicate 30-60mins 3-4 days a week. Not looking to get stacked just in decent shape for the beach this summer! Anyone got some good suggestions how to mix it up to try and improve results - do I need to do some more weights, I am focussing on cardio a lot more.
