I am relatively new to fantasy football as far as the NFL goes but was wanting to do a league this year. I don't know too many people that are interested that I know in my part of the world but was wondering if there would be interest with bluemooners. This initial post will just to gauge interest. If we can get, say, eight teams it should be a go. I'll keep it pretty beginner friendly. Just post below if your interested. Thanks.
 
Im in. Already got one team but dont mind doing another. There are a few nfl fans on here but whether they are into the fantasy part of it i dont know.
 
How will this work? Never done this before but watched the NFL for the last two years now...

You will create a team by signing up on nfl.com. Once you have done that you will enter the league. UF19 will give us details and links so we can when hes created it. Once that is done there will be a draft to decide which players you want in your team. So its not like fantasy football we have where everyone can have the same team. Normally a team on fantasy is made up of:
1 QB
2 RB
2 WR
1 RB/WR
1 TE
1 Team defense
1 Kicker

Points get given for touchdowns, yards gained, field goals kicked etc and minus points for fumbles and interceptions.
The league creator can edit how many points you gain for each thing.
I'd advise doing a bit of research on who are the top players before the draft. Also take into account players bye weeks as you dont want all your running backs on the same bye meaning you'll have nobody in your team at that position for that week.
 
ok so I will pm you guys with invites and you can just reply to me with your email addresses for invites and I will probably try and get it all set up in the next day or two. Real fast, since I know there might be a few who haven't done this before, I really want to make it enjoyable for beginners, so what do you guys think about just doing an auto-draft. For anyone that hasn't done a draft before it might be hard to coordinate considering, 1. it can be confusing for guys just starting out and don't know a whole lot about the NFL, and 2. we are probably going to be spread across many time zones. Oh by the way, the league will be through Yahoo Sports, not NFL.com. Not that NFL.com is bad, I am just a little more familiar with Yahoo. Once everyone gets signed up I'll ask and see if you guys want to change the scoring or rosters up any. Looking forward to it!

This is meant to be fun, and not too competitive but I just figured it would be more fun than signing up with a bunch of total strangers on the internet. I'm in. But I warn you, I'm an American, which means A - I'm good at it and B - I think auto-drafting is sacrilege... but I suppose a live online draft wouldn't be the easiest thing to coordinate. so I understand.
 
If we get more people interested then i will create one on nfl.com. I would suggest making the league bigger but when you get more than 8 in a league teams will be ending up with players not even getting points.

Lee i think you're the 9th so you'd miss out but if we can get another 6 then i can create another for us.
 
So what is the crack with this then ?

I even remembered to check my emails but nothing has come through.
 
I got a pm off uf19 saying that if i wanted to do it on nfl.com that would be fine as he isnt that knowledgable with it. Ive replied and said that he should do it his way as he thought of it and pm'ed him again today regarding whats going on but he hasnt got back yet. Season starts thursday so its going to need to be sorted by tomorrow really.
 
Thats what I was thinking saw an advert on the TV for a live game next weekend.

It will take a while to pick your squad I would have thought.

If we do a live draft which is a lot better then that will take roughly 45 minutes if we have an 8 team league. I'd suggest a live draft because you can see how good the players where last year so that gives rookies some help and also the players are ranked so you can always go off that if you dont know who they are.

I dont know when the cut off is. Hopefully it wont be until thursday so that gives us 3 nights to organise a draft that everyone is available for.

I know. Just means that each player will get their chosen players if they are available and not end up with a team full of players they didnt want.

If you have any problems entering the league let me know but everything should have been in the pms.
