100. Rome 4/41

Rome is a historical drama television series created by John Milius, William J. MacDonald, and Bruno Heller. The show, consisting of two seasons for a total of 22 episodes, aired on HBO, BBC Two, and Rai 2 from August 28, 2005 to March 25, 2007, and was later released on DVD and Blu-ray. An international co-production between Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States, the series was filmed in various locations, but most notably in the Cinecittà studios in Rome, Italy.

The series is set in the 1st century BC, during Ancient Rome's transition from Republic to Empire. The series features a sprawling cast of characters, many based on real figures from historical records, but the lead protagonists are ultimately two soldiers named Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo, who find their lives intertwined with key historical events.

Rome received largely positive reviews and had a high number of viewers. It received substantial media attention from the start, becoming a ratings success for HBO and the BBC (although the numbers declined considerably in the second season) and being honoured with numerous awards, including four Emmy Awards, seven Primetime Emmy Awards, and a Visual Effects Society Award. The series ran for two seasons out of the planned five due to high production cost; much of the material for the third and fourth seasons was telescoped into the second one.

The series has also received eleven Primetime Emmy Award nominations in various categories, including four nominations of Elba for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie.

97. Rick and Morty 4/44

Rick and Morty is an American adult animated science fiction sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Cartoon Network's nighttime Adult Swim programming block. The series follows the misadventures of cynical mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his good-hearted but fretful grandson Morty Smith, who split their time between domestic life and interdimensional adventures.

Roiland voices the eponymous characters, with Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer and Sarah Chalke voicing the rest of Rick and Morty's family. The series originated from an animated short parody film of Back to the Future, created by Roiland for Channel 101, a short film festival co-founded by Harmon. The series has been acclaimed by critics for its originality, creativity and humor.

The fourth season premiered on November 10, 2019, and consists of ten episodes. A fifth season was confirmed in July 2020, as part of a long-term deal in May 2018 that ordered 70 new episodes over an unspecified number of seasons.

97. Succession 4/44

Succession is an American black comedy satirical drama television series created by Jesse Armstrong. It premiered on June 3, 2018, on HBO, and has been renewed for a third season. The series centers on the Roy family, the dysfunctional owners of Waystar RoyCo, a global media and hospitality empire, who are fighting for control of the company amid uncertainty about the health of the family's patriarch, Logan Roy (Brian Cox).

Among the series ensemble cast are Jeremy Strong as Kendall, Kieran Culkin as Roman, and Sarah Snook as Siobhan, Logan's children employed by the company. Matthew Macfadyen stars as Tom Wambsgans, Siobhan's husband and Waystar executive; Nicholas Braun as Greg Hirsch, Logan's grandnephew also employed by the company; Alan Ruck as Connor, Logan's eldest child; and Hiam Abbass as Marcia Roy, Logan's wife. The series also features Peter Friedman, Natalie Gold, and Rob Yang, with Dagmara Domińczyk, Arian Moayed, and J. Smith-Cameron in recurring roles, before they were promoted to the main cast.

Succession has received critical acclaim, particularly for its writing, acting, and production values. It received a number of awards and nominations, including the British Academy Television Award for Best International Programme, the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama, and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series. Cox received the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama while Strong won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

96. Sherlock Holmes 4/45

Sherlock Holmes is the overall title given to the series of Sherlock Holmes adaptations produced by the British television company Granada Television between 1984 and 1994. The first two series were shown under the title The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and were followed by subsequent series with the titles of other short story collections by Arthur Conan Doyle. The series was broadcast on the ITV network in the UK and starred Jeremy Brett (who had earlier portrayed Dr Watson on stage in the Los Angeles production of The Crucifer of Blood) as the famous detective. His portrayal remains very popular and is accepted by many as the definitive on-screen version of Sherlock Holmes. Dr. Watson is portrayed as a competent associate, as in Conan Doyle's stories.

Initially, Watson was played by David Burke (who had earlier played the villain in an adaptation of "The Adventure of the Beryl Coronet" for the 1965 BBC series starring Douglas Wilmer and Nigel Stock). Burke appeared in the first series Adventures before leaving to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. He was replaced by Edward Hardwicke, (who had earlier had a role in an adaptation of "The Greek Interpreter" for the 1968 BBC series) who played Watson from the second series Return onwards.

Not too fussed about any of those. From memory, 4/41 is a very good score for 100th place in these polls. It suggests a lot of alignment in people's votes.

EDIT: Just checked the others. 100th place =

Based on the first batch, there' going to be plenty I have not seen.

Not sure how Rome passed me by.

Succession is one of those I thought I might like but didn't have time to.

Never heard of Rick and Morty.
