Bluemoon's Official Top 100 TV Shows

Two of mine in there: Mindhunter & Lost.

Mindhunter is exceptional - the 2nd best show that I've seen on Netflix. A slow-paced fascinating watch in which the characters are the real draw, but the period detail and feel of the show is brilliant. Steve Miller's "Fly Like An Eagle" in an early episode is a great musical cue for the montage.

Really hope they make series 3 sometime.

I got a bit frustrated with Lost through series 2 & 3, but it really picked up again in the later series.
Mindhunter is superb, would of made it into my top 20 i think if it hadnt been canned. Loved the characters in it and the 60's/70's vibe was brilliant. Just such a shame it didnt last and move to the BTK killer.

All the weirdness and mystery and drama for a while was great. Then it started to seem like we weren't getting anywhere - everyone wondering were they just dead and stuck in limbo. The makers said to hang on it'll make sense in the end. So we watched for the sake of it for season after season....hours for each viewer. And there was nothing. We were conned.
Lost was such an utter pile of shite and so far up its own arse. Basically took the piss out of the viewers for years and right at the end kicked in bollocks for good measure. Had the potential to be brilliant as well.

2 now in the top 10. Luther and Friends. I have probably enjoyed certain parts of series more than friends, but its in there for its longevity and the fact its such easy watching even after the endless repeats. One of those series you can always put on and laugh at.

I expected Friends to be higher.

I did not.

As influential as it is on pop culture, lets face it, a lot of it is pap. And those do like it probably will be hesitant to admit it, because of the views that it is predominantly pap.

Nope, I'm pretty sure I included it. Watched every episode when it first aired. It's light entertainment for sure but I enjoyed it at the time. If I did my list again, it might not sneak in but in the end I went with it as my token sit-com.

Got to ask what you think is Simon's greatest programme? I love The Deuce,Treme and the one a lot of people haven't watched Generation Kill. Homicide Life on the Streets he was involved in also

I enjoyed all those too.

But another of his that I would strongly recommend is Show Me A Hero. It’s almost as good as The Wire and right up there with Simon’s best work and received excellent reviews.

A quick word of advice: if you haven’t heard of it avoid Googling for details of the story. It’s based on fact and sticks very closely to what actually went on. And there is something that happens right at the end of the last episode that left me in a state of mild shock. If you inadvertently find out this detail in advance it may detract from the viewing experience.

Forgot to include Our Friends in the North in my list.

And the prison drama Oz.

At least I remembered I Claudius.

Yeah saw that. Was good with Oscar Isaac
