Bluemoon's Official Top 100 TV Shows

Really sorry to hear that Daz, condolences and best wishes mate .

Blackadder, probably the most poignant and sobering ending to anything I’ve ever watched in my life on TV , possibly the best ending ever , and given it was a comedy, I thought those last scenes really brought home the severity and actually reality to epic levels, utterly brilliant , and the odd laugh in there too ;-).
"Good luck everyone.........."

Gets me everytime

There was a podcast I was listening to recently where they were saying if you can't write comedy then you can't write good drama, because even in the most dramatic moments in people's lives, people make jokes and funny stuff happens. It's not a surprise to see someone like Phoebe Waller-Bridge seamlessly switch to drama writing.

"There's a nasty splinter on that ladder there. A bloke could hurt himself on that."

Fantastic! Absolutely adore Blackadder II with Tom Baker as Captain Rum. Makes me cry with laughter every time.

Not a fan of the 3rd series but number 4 is funny. Right up until they go over the top.

Best way to have ended it.
Not in my top 20 but very enjoyable. That was my favourite episode, from which my favourite lines comes:-

"Farewell, Blackadder! The foremost cartographers of the land have prepared this for you! It's a map of the area you'll be traversing. They'd be very grateful if you could just fill it in as you go along. Goodbye!"

I've never seen Blackadder, i know! but i've just never come across it.
I think they are all on iPlayer - get watching (but as others have noted, best to start at series 2 as the character is completely different from then onwards).

I think I will miss out on two of my top 20. Too late for them to appear.

I had the Netflix Series 'The Queen'. I liked the production values and social history and some of the casting and acting has been brilliant. Series 1 the best by a country mile.

I included The Killing with Sofie Grabol which I actually preferred to The Bridge. I thought it better written and more multi layered. Acting and writing superb.

Think by the end I will have the other 18 that appeared in the top 100.
Not in my 20 but series 1 of The Killing is excellent.

Love Blackadder. Used to think the first series was by far the weakest, but its grown on me over the years, I now prefer it to season 3. Series 2 and 4 a cut above though.

Blackadder is a bit like Fawlty Towers for me in that I didn't watch it when it first aired but have seen and enjoyed numerous episodes since but couldn't say if I have seen them all. In fact, I'm sure that I haven't seen all the Blackadder ones because I watched part of one recently that I'd not seen.

Anyway, better than Mr Bean.

Come home for lunch, and checked this thread as usual, I am not ashamed to say Blackadder was number two on my list as I think its fcking brilliant.

Again a sitcom with an iconic main character and suberb supporting cast, and cameos from a plethora of household names all wanting to get in on the act. Every single person in Blackadder seemed to enjoy their role, and as a result it can be watched multiple times and still enjoyed. Apart from series one where they were finding their feet with it, it is my favourite tv comedy, very funny.

I havnt been big into the boxset type series, so apart from a couple I am not sure how many more I might have, but its still been an enjoyable thread. Also it would be interesting to know how many "one vote only" selections there have been.

Be great to see how many peoples number 1s didn't even make the list!

Going to be a great thread to refer back to this. Might attempt a watch off all 100!

Apart from The Simpsons. Fuck that
