Blues in Newcastle

I'm doing some work up in Geordie-land and won't be able to get back for the game tomorrow. Is there anywhere that Blues gather in Newcastle or can anyone recommend a good place to watch in case it's not on at the hotel.

Which hotel you at mate?

When we have a get together, we normally go to the Union Rooms http://goo.gl/maps/ASdA, a 'spoons which is not far from the station. They have a big projector screen in the main bar and TVs in the other rooms - including 3D. However, I think most of us are going to the game tomorrow.

I'm in a Premier Inn near the airport this week. Not stayed there before so no idea if they'll show it. Even if they do I'd rather watch it with some other blues.

Eeek I think you are well away from the action there mate.

You need to get into town for any decent screens/ambiance.

Centurion Bar in the train station has the biggest screen in town. Details here:

I'm at Newcastle University.. there are loads of bars to watch the game at but my friends and i regularly attend the Duke of Wellington on High Bridge street to watch the mcfc games. The owner is properly cool and has dubbed the pub the 'unofficial mcfc supporters bar - geordie branch' due to our attendance for the games. Nice ales - sort of smells a bit though.. you get used to it !

Was in there a few weeks ago and it looked to me like the projector lens needed cleaning, the game that was on was very hard to see.

Guys, barring the blue fairy dropping a ticket on my mat in the next few days, I will probably be heading up to Newcastle to watch the final with no. 1 son who lives in Tynemouth - assume main group of geordie blues will be in the centre somewhere - Union rooms ?
It would be nice to watch it with fellow blues with no hassle.
Any info re. venues would be much appreciated
