I had to check I wasn’t confusing him with Russ Ballard but yes, a blast from the past. Probably did MotD reports every now and then.

I think it’s a bit harsh to sack someone for something like this. Just trying to lighten things up with an ill-thought out joke and he loses his job. No wonder they’re all dull now like Hugh Ferris.

When I read the first part "Well, the women just finishing off....". I thought he was going to say something really, really bad. Probably why I wouldn't last two minutes as a commentator.
