Any medical professionals here? Aren't a fracture and break. EXACTLY the same thing

Colloquially, in football at least, a 'broken leg' tends to mean either a fracture dislocation or a compound fracture. Basically, a horror injury.

A fracture is more likely to mean a smaller or cleaner break, which may even be able to heal without an operation. But that's purely semantics. It's worth waiting for more information.

Looking like only 8 ISH weeks out, which I'd have been gutted about 2 hours ago, but when you hear bad leg break, the reported news is a huge relief.

It's a long season and our rivals will all suffer injuries at some point

Also, if it's going to be 2-3 months then best that it's now with a couple of International Breaks reducing the number of fixtures.
