Why?

Last 3 games we've gone for it, won and scored goals galore. Today Bobby Manc goes back to the same game plan as the carling Cup semi-final home leg and we give Scholes and United the freedom to run and dictate the games.

THAT'S MY THIRD LAST MINUTE DEFEAT THIS SEASON. SEEN THEM ALL. :-(

How in anyway was that because we were cautious - if anything it was because we weren't cautious

We've seen how it doesn't work, yet it looked like we went for a draw. I have no idea why we wouldn't go for it, when it was worked so well the last matches, and when we're had a flow going. To much respect for them, and why? When they have looked pretty weak lately. Bizarre and cruel.

he can't resist, he tried to disguise it today by having forward thinking players in the side but then instructed them to be negative.
a strange thing to do imo.

backfired to some tune.

You are all stupid and taking the piss - he went for the most offensive side that he could have picked

Problem is de Niro Bobby listens to your 'too negative' bullshit.

4-2-4 may work against Burnley but we were outgunned in midfield because we had only had Barry and de Jong in midfield.

FFS Wigan, Burnley and Birmingham are a different world to the rags. We would of got at them today like we had done to the teams above we would of been picked off plenty of times at the back. We aren't good enough as a collective side to batter top sides like we have done the lesser sides the last few weeks.

I thought he should of played 3 in midfield today to combat their midfield, it's where games are won and lost and its where it was won for them today.

Two wingers and two strikers, yeah you're right we are too negative.

He put out the most attacking players he could, what do you people want? ( besides a good moan)

Totally agree. If the strikers had passed to each other we would have won.
bellamy main culprit.

Thought our attacking line up gave them too much space in the middle and quite a few of us had poor first touch today.

But if de Niro and his crones want to moan and slag the manager I guess it's their right.

Bit ridiculous to think that Mancini has a way that he wants to play regardless of opposition, state of the game, form of the players on the pitch.

He changed things today because things needed changing, they came put much the better side after the break. Don't agree with the subs he made fwiw, just think he chose the wrong individuals at the wrong time.

One thing I would question, was Johnson under instructions not to run behind Evra?

If that was directed at me, you could not be more wrong, I dont have any cronies, and I challenge you to find a single post I have made slating a City player.

LOL...how can you deduce that i aimed the post at you....i even quoted the other poster to make sure :S

Once again some posters are missing the point. It wasn't the formation, it was the way we dropped back and let Scholes carry the ball and dictate the game. We were on the back foot from the off and for large parts of the game. We should have been much more positive from the off and taken the game to United.

Are players are a match for United. Our mindset isn't.

Unfortunately today was not about winning it was about not loseing and when we try to do that it goes tits up, but we are still in fourth place so fuck the red bastards

The rags midfield had that extra man in there and we couldnt really match them.
They had all the time in the world with the ball and when we got it we were pressed straight away.

We are crying out for a box to box. A number of times one of out players got the ball and was looking forward for options and had nobody making any runs at all. Not sure Mancini can be blamed unless he has told them not to make themselves available.

Roll on next game now. And come on you chavski

I just want to know who bottled it today ? was it players and their lack of belief, was it Mancini with his tactics ??? head to head with the BIG 4 we have held our own, so why can we not do these fuckers? It was there for the taking today more so than ever before, but we didn't have big enough bolloks. Why i ask WHY????

Come on lads lets not get all handbags about our loss today, our time WILL come and come aplenty whereas their failing force.

For me the only problem with Mancini's tactics is the LACK of support for the front two, often the balls fired up to Tevez who has to hold it and wait fifteen minutes for our very cautious midfield to give support. (sadly the scum knew this and were onto him like a shot) The other problem is that we never push forward and condense their half. We have plenty of speed yet won't use it and like to invite the opposing players into our half by not pushing higher enough up the field.

Lastly and it's only a slight criticism of Mr Kompany, the guy just can't play to his FULL potential on the left CB due to him not having a LEFT foot....Please Mr Mancini give him a break.

COME ON CITY....BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD!!!!

Our biggest problems today weren't just that we didn't have enough threat up front but that our other players just didn't support them enough going forward, whether that was tactics or just lack of desire i don't know.
The amount of times we had 3 or 4 at most against 6 or 7 of them whilst attacking was unreal.
We're not doing too badly though considering how bloody awful our midfield balance is.
