from next season, why not make the league cup the bobby robson memorial cup.?
instead of having point -less sponsering , low interest(from certain clubs) and just an excuse to give the kids a run-out,
make it something worth winning. a cup named after the greatly respected man, & a great way of remembering him

I don't think sides using the competition to field fringe players in the early rounds is fitting for the man.

Merge it with the Scottish Cup to form the British Cup, that would work.

Great idea, however SFA and FA hate each other, and I wouldn't like to travel to watch us play Queen of the South nor would it pull in the fans who won't even pay to watch us V Fulham.
