I was having an argument with them lot.. and I was trying to look back as far as I could, I already had them in a vice grip stating that back in 1981 when ManUre broke the transfer record for £1.5M that was a £1.4M increase from 20 years ago (1961) from Torino's £100,000 for Dennis Law from City, I proceeded to say lets fast forward from 1981 to 2001 (20 years later) when ManUre broke the record again but this time for £28.1M and made it abundantly clear that it was a £26.6M increase in again 20 years.

Suffice it to say they couldn't think of any come back but then got onto the subject of Mancini being an over-rated Baconface wannabe!

The only argument I had was that he had won the same cup in as many years as Baconface did................
but then a swift bordem look up on tinterweb I found something that I've never bothered looking into before (also I was like still a baby during the late 80's so have no recollection of these events) that being Baconchops finished 11th in his first season and 2nd his his second season but only making top 4 once in his first 4 years of management at the swamp, also winning the FA Cup on his FOURTH not second but FOURTH attempt (1989-1990 season)

Now if I was being generous I would class us finishing 5th (2 seasons ago) as Mancini's first season...... but I'm not so I'm going to include his first FULL season (last season) where he finished 3rd (joint 2nd with Chelsea) and also won the FA Cup. Also I picked up on some intresting stats for Mancini, whist at City Mancini has:

Managed - 88 games
Winning - 50
Drawing - 19
Loosing - 19
Win success rate - 56.82%

I know he's had the financial backing of one of the richest owners in the world but lets not forget someone else who was in the exact position 3 years ago as Mancini is now...

Mark Hughes

Managed - 77 games
Winning - 36
Drawing - 15
Loosing - 26
Win success rate - 46.75%

It's not really about the money but more of the person who spends it, if I was manager of City spending cash left right and centre I very much doubt I could even keep us up.

I like him, he plays the 'dumb foreigner' very well, but underneath I detect a character with a 'steely determination' who knows exactly what he wants and how to get it.

Roberto has done well, but the 1 thing that we don't know his how well he will react if we have a injury crisis. I hope that he would have the know it all to cop with that situation.

We had quite a few out with injury around late December.

This, dont think he had a chance to settle his back 4 for the majority of last season due to injuries. Johnno was out for a while, Tevez, Balo, few others. He handled it very well IMO.

Missed the match at Arsenal if I remember correctly off the top of my head. Really affected us.

think he missed more games then Arsenal but yeah it did effect us as would anyone loosing their main spot of creativity, but I think he was out when a few others were thats why we had a few young lads from the academy on the bench.

I believe he missed more too. Apologies, I was just remembering that particular instance as an example of him being out during that stretch. I kept watching that match wishing Silva was there.

every game Silva misses I wish he was there. He needs to be wrapped up in bubble wrap to ensure his safety

At least we'll have some backup for Silva next season (Nasri or alternative, Assulin, and if he isn't loaned out Weiss) as it was painful to watch us without him last season running into brick walls with no playmaker.
