VALERI Bojinov was on target but City suffered defeat in the reserves derby at Altrincham's Moss Lane.

Victory for the Blues would have seen them take over top spot in the table from Sunderland, but they found themselves trailing to goals from Matthew James and Federico Macheda with five minutes of the first half remaining.

Bojinov gave the Blues renewed hope with a goal from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time, but despite several chances being created, at both ends, there was no addition to the scoreline after the break.

Just spoke to a rag who watched it on MUTV and he said Boj didn't look good at all. I just said he ain't fit, will try to find out why.
