Bony (Season long loan at Stoke - Official)

Precisely, and they have no one else in terms of depth to shoulder that burden. That's my point, you've just underlined it, cheers. Chelsea have to put Hazard up front and that's not doing it either.

We won't sell Bony because there's no one to bring in.
And I'm saying if we sold Bony, I'd rather we didn't bring anyone in, because Kelechi and Sterling have shown enough to suggest they are more likely to do better than bringing in a journeyman striker midseason if the need arises.

Would you still think that come the summer, or would you have suggested that the previous summer?

There's no one that we could bring in at the desired level, that wouldn't cost the moon and could play in the CL. January limits your options both in that regard and bedding a player in.

We went how long without an away goal all with the offensive players you mentioned?

Highlighting our away form doesn't prove any argument. We had Aguero, KdB, Silva and Sterling etc and still failed to score. It can happen to the best of teams. Having Bony in the squad won't make a difference either way. 3 forwards is fine and many of the top sides in Europe do it and they're fine.

We could bring in the likes of Austin but I find it unneccesary. We have enough firepower to put away most sides.

Yes, that's my point. So you saying that with those players "we'll be fine" doesn't prove anything either, does it?

You can never account for injuries as Aguero and Bony have shown, or even suspensions, and I think by not replacing Bony if he were to go then we would be severely limiting ourselves. Especially with the amount of games we play in one season,

Why would I think that come the summer? I'm thinking Pep come summer. And looking forward to what he will do. His history dies suggest he seldom carries multiple backup strikers though.

And Bony isn't going to make a difference. That's my point.

Plenty of top sides have 3 or less forwards and they're doing just fine. As long as we attcking places that chip in we'll be fine. By pointing out us not scoring away, it doesn't aid your argument because we wouldn't have scored regardless of if Bony was in the squad or not.

History suggests he hasn't had one as injury plagued as Aguero or even perhaps as inexperienced as Iheanacho.

I'm not saying he is or will make a difference, I would like him sold.

I just want him replaced, that's where we differ. You're mistaken with what the "argument" is

Bayern only have 2 forwards because clearly Pep feels he can survive without an out and out striker with talented offensive players like Robben, Muller, Ribery etc who chip. Very similar to us.

Perhaps he'd bin Aguero and get an injury free striker. Or get a striker who can also play wide lime Aubemayang. Thus he can play both and switch Aubemayang to striker if Aguero goes down.
