Born Winner

Since the day he was appointed I have been a stout defender of Mancini. I have tried to see the bigger picture and the growing pains we were going through while Roberto implemented his master plan. I was prepared to be patient.

I supported his appointment simply because he was seen as a born winner. He had done it all with Inter and I was confident he would do the same at City.

I was prepared to put up with less than entertaining football because he was a born winner.

I was prepared to put up with all the stories about unrest and unhappiness within the squad because he was a born winner.

I was prepared to give the man time because he was a born winner.

But strip away the "born winner" facade and you're left with little else to commend his managerial role. This isn't a "Mancini Out" post, just the first crack in my faith in his ability to be that born winner.

Born winners win... not send out teams that are clearly going to fail.

I just feel really let down after last night...

To be fair if you had not gone to the game I am sure you wouldn't feel quite so bad about it all.

I feel for the many blues who made the trip however imo the Carling Cup is the lowest of interest to me hence me not making the trip down.

Top 4 is the holy grail without a shadow of doubt and to be in 3 cup competitions would just be too much when taking into account the injury list at the moment.

Something had to give and I am pretty confident there won't be too many people in the heirarchy at City shedding tears about last night's exit.

Wonder how many of 'em had stumped up for STs for nigh on forty years?

This "born winner" crap makes me laugh. I could have won Serie A with the advantages he had.
Now that makes me laugh. I could've won the lottery last night if I had the numbers, he got the inter job and therefore the resources through being a good manager.

While what you say might be logical, unfortunately I have witnessed just about every cup defeat in the 35 years since we last won anything, and every season I genuinely think... "this is our season "!

Naive, I know, but I seriously thought we had a chance of winning something finally and getting that monkey off our backs.

And it's fine to say we can now concentrate on the other trophies, but football doesn't always work like that. You have to take your chances while you can, as while you plan for the bigger trophies, the ones we can win are slipping away.

But, yes, going last night was hugely disillusioning, and there were a lot of angry people after the match. I was one of them!

Like I say, I have always supported Mancini, but last night I felt I had been conned.

And if you believe that those in charge at City didn't really care aboiut losing last night, then I fear as to where we are heading if that is the case.

Can't you tell that I'm pissed off!

If the rags, Arsenal and Chelsea had been relegated or had points deducted then even a no-hoper like Benitez would have won the Premiership.

Why is Top 4 the Holy Grail ? For me a TROPHY is the Holy Grail , what do you want to see , Tevez stood in the middle of COMS holding up a picture of the League Table above his head ? A copy of the Sun back page in the Trophy Cabinet ?
So we finish top 4 , whoop de doo ! We get to play Cluj , Zilina , Sparta Prague in front of 25000 wow ! Don`t fall into the Rags trap that the Chumps League is the be all and end all of everything , it`s an overhyped competition , full of a lot of crap teams like the afore mentioned , plus the big team cartel who like to make out it`s the only thing that matters . Sorry give me a TROPHY and Europa League next season rather than winning nowt again and Chumps League !
We can still finish 4th even if we lose Sat plus 5 or 6 more games , lose 1 in a Cup competition and that`s it , another chance gone :-(

"I could have wom serie A with the advantages he had"

Probably the sillest most ridiculous statement ever made on a city website!

The point made is that to become Inter manager he first had to prove he was a good manager and did. He was a success at Fiorentina and Lazio, then at Inter.
