Remember this like yesterday. The whole of the UK baked in a heatwave, thousands of blues pitch up in shorts and sunglasses and it was fucking freezing in the smog.

This has probably been discussed, but did we throw this game for some sort of Sven statement? Boro were crap that year, and to this day I don't know what the fuck happened.

Remember cheering the goals ourselves from the 5th onwards, whilst secretly thinking, what the fuck is going on here.

Bizarre day.

Bloody freezing.

I would like to think it was a semi-strike for Sven.. Boro seemed to score every time they attacked.

Elano's goal got the biggest cheer of the game. :D

Was there, I remember our fans were great that day, especially when we were getting battered in the second half and dancing to Chelsea Dagger each time they scored.

I don't see why we would throw the game for Sven. Surely getting hammered 8-1 would have just removed any remaining doubts in Thaksin's mind about sacking him. We had nothing to play for, morale was probably low due to not only Sven's sacking but also because we'd seen what for the first half looked like a very promising season, fizzle out to the stage where we just about stayed in the top half. I think that must have been why we played so badly.

Remember the trouble with the stewards and police at the end as well. Wasn't nice at all.

We don't need no Phil Scolari, We don't need no Mourinho...

it wasnt chelsea dagger, was something else but i dont know the name!

i remember getting back to the train station and seeing a blue covered in blood, not pretty

I was there to I remember it all kicking of and a seat flying through the air. That was a dark day for us. Thaksin had just had his money frozen and the players knew sven was getting fucked off as well. So it was looking like a fire sale and relegation for next season plus the rags had just won the league at wigan. Shit day.

I don't know why, but I'll always remember those annoying boro kid fans off to the right. They made more noise than the rest of their fans. Just remember 'em all booing with their thumbs down.. Just.. Whaaaat?

Boooooooooooo! *blows raspberry*

I thought after Dunne got sent off iirc Sven apparently told the players to just make sure they don't get booked to ensure we finished top of the fair-play table.

ELANOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....

The Police that day were welcoming, forcing everyone into that tiny poub, jumped over fence went and watched bungee jumpers at transporter bridge in fog! Not much round that way, derelict as it comes.

REMEMBER FLEETING CHANTS OF "WE'RE GONNA WIN 8-7"
