Boro Post Match thread

Nah, he's supposed to be our "creator", final ball fucking woeful, continually fails to pick out the correct pass and has no urgency whatsoever. Can't remember the last time I saw him have a decent game.

What a pile of tripe.

Eh, for me the first half experiment didn't work. But roughly 10 out of 10 people slating Pep for that I imagine were on about how Sterling and Sane both needed dropping as recently as Thursday evening.

Tried something. Didn't work. Changed it. What he should be doing. Better than with Pellers where he more or less phoned in the team sheet every match no matter what.

Faint praise, yes, in improving on that soul-killing Pellers 3 season. But at least there is that.

It's not the finishing, it's the quality of chance. We are always trying to shoot through a crowded 6 yard area. Because our style of play needs Messi on the end to dribble past 2 players and then shoot.

I disagree, we don't work the keepers enough. The amount of times we don't hit the target is a joke, today is a perfect example 22 shots just 4 on target. How many keepers have had to have worldy's against us this season?

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "The second half was better than the first one - we had problems trying to control their counter-attacks and we couldn't settle.

"It was tough as Middlesbrough are playing to stay in the league but we dropped another chance to take advantage. It will be tight until the last game because Manchester and Arsenal will be there.

"Gabriel Jesus was out for three months and made only four training sessions, but he's 20 so he could stay on the pitch for 90 minutes and he found himself well."

Pep has a lot to answer for after that first half line-up - absolute disaster! He's getting it wrong time and time again! I'll give him another season but I'm getting less confident by the the game that he's the man for the job.
I'll have a pint of what Pep is drinking... he just doesn't seem to get the premier league... I will renew Tuesday but it's in hope not expectation

Well ok, the best team available to him. Does he need to continue to rotate/rest players in the last few matches?
After an FA Cup semi-final and a manchester derby I'd say so. KDB, Sane need a break. I don't know if you watched Utd before but Swansea were better than them. That's what happens when you play a lot of games

We have to use the 4141/433 formation and fit the best available players in that system for the remaining matches. Rotation of players should be minimal from now on.
