Boro Post Match thread

Why are people so convinced it will be different next year when Pep brings in his own players ?

A decent manager can make the team greater than the sum of its parts

How's about trying to get the best out of the players he has?

Maybe because too many of the players are just not good enough. Cliche, Kolorov Otamendi, Navas all surplus to requirements. Otamendi's lack of pace is an accident waiting to happen every week with teams parking the bus and trying to hit us on the break. We need to invest heavily in a quick strong dominant Centre back, a keeper and 2 full backs and that is just for starters. All successful teams build from a solid base but we are an absolute shambles at the back
. Once the defence is sorted properly we might just start to see trophies again. Two goals at Middlesboro should be enough for 3 points imo

Because our fullbacks are wank. Any top team relies on their fullbacks to offer something to the attack, especially against teams sitting deep and crowding the middle. No manager can get the best out of a team without any fullbacks

Because a number of our players are clearly not good enough to play at this level. It's not a matter of them not fitting his system, the same players just scraped 4th last season and are a year older.

Talking to much sense for some of our posters.
Guy has been in job less then a year and all of a sudden they have turned into FIFA pro managers

Step 1. Criticise Pep for not picking the same midfield/attack every game.
Step 2. Pep starts with Sane and Sterling most games and thus, reducing lineup changes every game.
Step 3. Criticise Pep for the dip in form of Sterling and Sane and blame him for overplaying them.
Step 4. Both wingers look absolutely knackered so Pep figures that Boro is the best game to give them a rest and pick up their form.
Step 5. Criticise Pep for not starting with the same lineup again and resting the wingers.

Great work guys, the circle is complete.

Confident of top four now, three home games, rags have spud & Arsoles away, can't see many points there, I think we should just take that, and look forward to Pep recruiting the obvious defensive replacements plus a defensive midfielder, it can be done :-)

Our home record isn't great. We might be better off if we had three away matches tbh. I think Pep has been right for months when he has said that this is going to go down to the wire.

One of my pet peeves is that he has to. Would love to have seen far more in the way of foresight, especially when it comes to our golden oldies.

I honestly think the eds lads couldn't have done worse than our fullbacks this year, least they would have had the legs to get up and down as much as required.

Its a difficult one for the club I suspect. Had they brought pep type players to play under Pellers, we may not have seen the best they could offer, or worse, could have dented their confidence playing unfamiliar methods. I personally didn't have great expectations this season as we haven't got the right players and the team/squad is a bid of a hybrid. Fingers crossed next season, we get more suitable players and we see it all coming together beautifully

No shame in a point away to a team fighting for their life. We will be better next season.
WTF? They are fighting for their lives because they are shite. Two fucking points against a team likely to be relegated in the next few weeks and it's "no shame". Utter bollocks.

Should have started them and I suspect he knows it. It would be refreshing to see him take responsibility for his mistakes every now and again.
Dont necessarily agree he should have started them. Both were not in great form and probably needed a rest. The team that started should, on paper have been more than a match for Borough
