Borussia Dortmund (H) Post-Match Thread

Would like to see Jack given a go centrally, he could receive the ball on the left for Villa and drive into acres of space, for us he faces a parked bus. Foden just has so many more tools to create from that position as a player.

Grealish in the middle can go either way running at defenders, will receive the ball in better positions to play Haaland through and his ability to retain possession under pressure will be good to escape a press. Feel like we have seen enough of him on the left to know its not really working. The lads definitely not a shit footballer, has an excellent touch and always wants the ball. Just needs that game where everything goes right and he grabs a couple of goals and he'll be flying.
Pep surely has to try something different with Jack as it isn't really working just yet.

Grealish getting ripped to pieces on the radio but no mention of Mahrez who was much worse

Foden, Bernardo and Alvarez changed the gane. Suddenly Dortmund were on the back foot and couldn’t handle them
He's City's most expensive player and his performances will always be under the spotlight, No doubt his performances has to improve and personally I think he will get better at City but it will be in a more central role. It's clear as day he's not a wide man. Jack just needs to get his head down and play football, It's Pep he has to impress not the twats on the radio and media that's all that matters. He was England's golden boy at Aston Villa and basically all of English football fans thought he should be a regular England starter...Now he's at City he's hated and should be nowhere near the England team.

Pep has to take the odd gamble and decide when to rest players and despite how we played, we pick up 3 points and Silva and Foden get a bit of rest. More often than not he gets the call right by getting the result if not the performance.
Personally I think our issues stemmed from defence. Cancelo shudda been RB & Aké or Gomez shudda been LB. Stones isn't a sufficient enough RB at the highest level, & yet again we're talking about FB issues when we've have months to resolve it.

It does my fuckin head in talking about the same LB weak spot season after season... \0/

He's also hated by many on here which is a bit embarrassing

What do people think of Grealish ?

A big disappointment. A transfer I never fully understood. He hasn’t got the pace like Sané, Sterling or Jesus to play on the wings. He’s not a good enough dribbler to beat his fullback, and even if he did, he still has no speed to accelerate from them.

As for midfield, what is his competition? De Bruyne. Gundogan. Bernardo. Good luck benching any of them.

Yes people say there are plenty of games to play. But if we were to pick out our BEST XI, Grealish wouldn’t be in there. Did we really pay 100m and gave him number 10 to play 90 minutes in Carabo Cup and come of the bench?

If we keep Bernardo and Gundogan, there is no way in hell Grealish have a future here. I cannot see it.
