The away goals rule is nonsense, and always has been. Commentators banging on about Chelsea winning and having an away goal into the bargain, yet Chelsea cannot go through on the away goals rule. Only Atletico can go through via this daftness.
Tbh, your logic is twisted.
The away rule - as stupid as it may be - is looking at BOTH legs (by comparison), not only one.
Chelsea had their chance to score more than 1 away goal and didn't.
The rule comes into play only AFTER a tie is level after 2 legs.

Complete and utter rubbish. A second domestic treble would be a resounding success. Glory in Europe will to a large extent depend on luck. We don't even know where we will play our home games for starters.

Complete and utter rubbish too !!
A domestic treble will be a resounding success, but so would a Champions league success.
It wont be because of luck, we are better than that.

Hope not. If City win the domestic treble and fail to make at least the final of the CL then Pep and especially the owners will consider this season a disappointment after all the promise of the last two months.
I was just getting my sharpening stone for the pitchfork. I’d sent the Mrs out to find some dry wood for a torch without success (it’s pissing down). Then you went and qualified your statement lol.

Nobody has done a treble before. To do two would be on another planet. People talk about ’istree, we’re writing it every season. I had to laugh watching Carragher and Souness talk about Liverpool’s domination a couple of weeks ago, just conveniently forgetting that for two calendar years no other club won a domestic trophy until the bin dippers won the league.

Hope we do it for you fella! God could’ve taken me at the 93.20 moment though and I’ve been spoiled ever since.

Nah, they've been talking about it for the last 4 years or so but I think since spurs and monaco knocked us out with it they decided they're quite fond of it after all.

Yes I bet!! It still guts me looking back on that Spurs tie, if Sterling's winner had been allowed it would have gone down as one of my favourite City supporting memories of all time.

Heartbreaking that was.

We need to win a couple of ties on away goals against their darling clubs if we want it scrapped. If we were ahead of Bayern on away goals with 5 minutes left of a semi final the **** nuggets would scrap it before the final whistle went.

Has to be the Foden-Jesus-Sterling front 3 for me. It's exactly what we need in these big European games, absolutely incessant pressing, Jesus gives us so much control in midfield when he drops in, he carries the ball so well, Sterling's movement is second to none, there's loads of pace for the counter, and Foden has the spark that gets the team going.

Tore Real Madrid apart and would do the same to anyone.

I think the team picks itself - Ederson; Zinchenko, Dias, Stones, Cancelo; Rodri, KDB, Gundo; Foden, Jesus, Sterling. If he goes with Mahrez, I'll be beyond disappointed. He'll probably try to force Bernardo in, but it would be a mistake IMO.

Can’t wait to measure what we’ve been doing in Europe, this team is geared for the competition now, both in mentality and setup.... no pressure (:

I think this will be less expansive, for obvious reasons, but controlled all the same...

2-0, the return of Kun
