How much of a musical icon is he? If he'd died in 1990, he'd be more famous than Dylan. Came across this, what do you think?

In today's celebrity and media obsessed world, where everything is overhyped, the word genius is thrown around too lightly. However, this man is nothing short of genius. He may not be everyone's cup of tea, but there is no denying his God given talent for music.

Great clip.

he is a genius, reinvented himself so many times, hasn't always followed the trend but at times set it. Lived the rock and roll lifestyle too. Can't beat a bit of Bowie, if I was gay I'd shag him!!

Why does everybody always use the '... is an overused word but in this case ...' line?

Yes, he's a genius and was cool as fuck in his day.

Saying that I can't imagine wearing this to the match, the boots are the wrong colour for a start

If I'd have lived in the 70's thats the way I would have stood on the Kippax - the away fans would have shat themselves!

the bloke next to yer would have shat himself nevermind the away fans. But if you had stuck a donkey jacket on top and a scalf around you wrist then you'd be ok mate ;)

Ha, did you have a Bowie jumpsuit under your Donkey jacket and DM's? Or was it just the flash cockneys who dressed like that?

Some odd fashions in those days!
