I went in the Rampant Lion near Victoria Park with my mate at the back end of last season because he'd just moved on to Upper Brook Street. There is a big Sky Sports sign outside, so I asked what time they would be putting the City match on. The woman went in the back, came back 5 minutes late and said "Sorry, we only show the big games". It's no wonder the place was fucking empty, I left a full pint and walked out.

LOL, sorry but that was funny :)

I know mate, when I told all my blue mates they laughed too. It was as if she was directly quoting the manager, rather than just saying "No, sorry, it's not on tonight"

You Kidding right? its kind of hard to believe a guy in Manchester who owns a BAR, would prefer Liverpool to any manchester team? that cant be good for buisness if you ask me! Fuck i hate Liverpool so much i rather die than live there, but if i did, i would broadcast liverpool instead of city just to earn money.

The manager there isn't a scouser even.... ironically, the 'original' landlord after it's huge refurbishment in 1982 who I mentioned, Joe, WAS a Scouser....but he wouldn't have done that in a Manc pub.

Fuckin ell, he sounds as bitter as the ginger dwarf/aka landlord of The Burton on Swan St...

USED to like the pub - however, virtually 4 quid a pint and this story has now relinquished my interest of ever setting foot in there again.

Must admit, that did make me laugh, but what would be funny would be if a Rag asked a Blue Landlord and he said " sorry, we only show local teams".
