Close the academy then.

Sancho and Diaz are the best talents that came from the academy in the past 5 years.

If we can't convince them to stay, then whats the point of buying best talents !


In my opinion, the best way to keep young exceptional talent is by trusting them.

Let them start the Carabo & FA Cups

Let them play at least when the league is already won.


Its already hard to accept the lose of Sancho, lets hope we will not suffer another loss by losing Diaz.

It’s not about convincing them to stay, perhaps they aren’t good enough. You can’t say Pep hasn’t for example put faith into Foden this season. We pay Pep a huge wedge to make decisions and if he is telling Txiki that Diaz isn’t going to make it then so be it.

We going to keep him around till Pep leaves? Off course not, sell him with a buy back or % clause and move on.
 
Would be even more pissed if Diaz left than Sancho. Let him start next game, and offer him a new contract. We have outclassed almost every team we have faced this season, and full strength team with Diaz instead of Sane should be good enough against Huddersfield

For me Diaz is an awesome talent.
However he still plays like he is in the under 13’s trying to run past to many players at once thus losing possession far to often for Pep’s liking I would say.
I really hope he makes it with us, but I’m not as confident as I was a few years ago tbh.
 
Kelechi Unal Mooy were sold at the end of last season. They were more advanced than Diaz is now. I am aware of the age gap and that Diaz will improve even more but how can he get a good run with our team. If we buy more players he goes further down the picking order. I would love to see him and Foden getting the chance to prove themselves but we have a very young squad and look to be well equipped for the immediate future.
 
I think he still needs two more league appearances from the last 3 games to get a medal? I think that 5 is the line? If he doesn't get those two appearances I genuinely expect him to leave, even if he does I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves anyway as we just aren't giving him chances. Foden has come along as the local lad in the same sort of position so has understandably been given all the (pretty limited) chances and Brahim has seemingly just been forgotten about.

If you can't even get on the bench in a meaningless game at the end of the season, then it's hard to see when you are ever going to get a chance. I'll be gutted if he does go though, we really need to get our act together with giving these kids a proper chance.
 
Shame how it seems to be going with our academy but if we keep playing amazing and winning leagues I'll get over it. The kid is clearly very talented but currently can't get a sniff( we'll only strengthen our squad) and he obviously needs more top level football to improve. Couldn't blame the lad if he looks for a move this summer. I watched Sancho for Dortmund this afternoon and what a star he'll end up. Fair play to him fucking off to play for a big club abroad and get more minutes than he would here...The flipside is we could be utd and have a homegrown player always in the squad for a million years. The fact most have them have been shit for the last 10 years is irrelevant.:-)

Is there any stats that suggest he lose possession a lot ?

His stats in the few minutes he played in the league & CL prove otherwise.
