Still 3 to go. Should make it 36 to be honest.

You don't have to go too far back in our history to see it would have taken City three seasons to win 36 games, what an unbridled joy all of this is. Stupendous!Still 3 to go. Should make it 36 to be honest.

Does he mean combined?Every time I’d imagine..
The Fairs Cup at that time was organised by FIFA and not UEFA; was invitation only and entry not on football merit; and was a limited competition which was, in effect, played across two seasons (Leeds' two legged final was played the following season) So you are correct.. City was the first English club to win both full domestic and European trophies in the same season.I'm guessing you are referring to Leeds 1968 league cup/fairs cup win. According to Wikipedia, UEFA did not organise or recognise the Fairs cup so do not acknowledge it as a European competition. On that basis, I'm more than happy to claim City were the first side to win a double including a European trophy.

Thought they were talking of a calendar year ie; 1st January 2021 - 31st December 2021, everyone plays the same amount of games..On average, there should be only 38 PL games played. The extra 6 games helped to push the stat.

Ok, I get it now..Covid delays pushed extra games into this calendar year. On average only 38 games are played.
But Liverpool were playing a 42 game league season in the 80s so I imagine they would have played more than 38 too?Covid delays pushed extra games into this calendar year. On average only 38 games are played.
