Breaking records/stats thread

So Liverpool arrived at the 33 victories whilst playing 46 league matches 71.74% success.

Our "Boys in Blue" reached that total by playing 41 league matches 80.49% success.

Another record that will be difficult to beat and we still have 3 matches to play in this calendar year.

City projected to get to 89 league goals by the end of the season based on current goals per game. With KDB back in harness, can we hit 100 and outscore the greatest front 3 in the history of English football?

Yes, I put such a prediction back in August. Let's see what happens.

Why expect many goals, given that we don't have a striker?

Well, in my view, this team is potentially the most creative in the history of English football. It has playmakers across many positions: Cancelo, Rodri, Gundogan, Foden, Bernardo, KDB, Grealish. Mahrez is creative as well and Jesus has been our top assistant so far. We lack a striker, OK, but we will create so many chances (injuries permitting), that we can still hit 100 goals, or at least more than Liverpool. Might be wrong, time will tell.

Never been a fan of calendar year stats in football. I’m not even certain when they became something significant - I certainly don’t remember them being discussed 20 years ago. Wonder if it’s down to the Ballon d’Or factor and people obsessing about that?
Football should only be measured in terms of seasons as far as I’m concerned. That’s where trophies are won and what teams will ultimately be remembered for.
