Brentford (A) | Post Match Thread

Key players rested. Squad players chance to stretch their legs and some have proved they‘re not up to our standards. 2 days rest and 3 days to plot the demolition of Utd.
Rest assured, you’re going to see a hungry animal looking to rip into them next week. We’re going to absolutely smash them. I’m more convinced than ever.

Pep wouldn't take any chances on the players likely to be playing in both games coming up. Phil , Ederson and Ake need starts to get up to speed, despite being possible starters and Kyle is likely to be unaffected by a tough run out, and could be replaced with Akanji. We made the best using the remaining players available. Was a poor game to watch as a result, I guess Pep will have his opinion confirmed as to the abilities of the players that played today. I feel sorry for Laporte if that's his last game, didn't get a lot of support.

Result is obviously meaningless. But we have seen that our 2nd team is way way below our first. Some players seem that do not belong to this City super team. But maybe with 1-2 games it's too harsh for them to jump to such conclusions.

We didn't play a strong team at all and it might backfire. But it might not. History will show that. Next Saturday we will know.
We needed to play with the strongest team, gain back game form and momentum and be ready for the FA Cup final. But that had some risk of injuries. Now we are ok in this part. I guess we don't have an big issues and all players will be 100 % ready.

Of course we all prayed we would be in Real Madrid form right now, but we will obviously not be in the next 2 games. But this doesn't mean we will lose them of course.

We just need to WIN next game against United by all means! If we do then I'm confident about next one.

Couldn’t give a fuck
Pretty much how I felt. As long as we go into these two finals in good health that is all that matters. On the stream that we had up Glen fucking Murray was going on about the bad form we're taking into the finals, the stupid fucker. Really didn't he see the sides we put out.

Dead rubber Gane and nothing at all at stake but we haven’t got this fabled just as strong second team and a lot of players are not good enough . Come Saturday we will beed t on be 100 percent on it

Is that who it was. He was fucking depressing me.

Kelvin Phillips does not belong at this club. At the very least Jack and others showed flashes in their first years. This has been downright ugly every step of the way. No idea what happens here because I doubt the club would sell him after just one year.
Hey may ask for a move though because let's face it, he isn't getting much game time next season on his showing so far.

I really thought some of our squad players would put in some great performances in the last three games to show they want to play a big part in the two finals (or even that they’re good enough to play a part at this club long term).

Apart from Foden, none of them did, and it was disappointing to see despite none of the results being important.

However, it’s been a very good season and still could potentially be the greatest in our history. I just hope we can find a way to build ourselves back up to a high performance level of the finals because losing the rhythm makes it extremely difficult to get back (seen it so many times with so many teams, where they can’t get back up to that top level).
If the lads can't get motivated for 2 cup finals I'll be amazed.

Doesn’t need City to have played our strongest team today for us to up to it and sharp v utd.

The magnitude of the game and barrage of the red loving media’s coverage should be enough to shake any complacency.

I am more concerned as to whose on VAR on Saturday than losing to Brentford.
On VAR duty for the FA cup final is David Coote, a ref serial losers Man Utd have never lost a game with when he's been in charge...
