It is simply unfair to slag off the players for insisting that the terms of their contracts of employment are upheld. It's Marwood, Cook (not Cooke) and - whisper it quietly - Khaldoon & the Board who have landed us with this mess. That's why Marwood has been praised so fulsomely from above.
I really don't see any mess mate, you honestly think we are in a mess?

What I do see is a load of cry babies because their dream signings haven't come to fruition.

Exeter Blue I am here said:
The relentless slagging of Marwood on here bores the arse off me. If graspers like Bridge and Adebayor won't take a pay cut and there are no takers for their services, then there is fuck all Marwood or anyone else can do about it. Indeed if Marwood didn't already have the backing of our owners (people that actually know what his mandate is, as opposed to some of the "I want" merchants on here), he could probably argue that he's being set up to fail, such is the difficulty of his task. Mancini, much as we all might love him, is a known control freak and I suspect the owners are quite happy about having seperated the roles of managing and transfer negotiating. It's easy to get your man if there are no financial constraints involved, but there clearly are because of FFP. If Khaldoon was unhappy with Marwood's performance, the bloke would no longer be at the club.....And I say all that as someone who likes Mancini and doesn't much care for Marwood

Calling Mancini a control freak is a tad excessive. He's a Manager and must be assertive and dominant in whatever he does. He's brought success to this Club in terms of the silverware that's passed us by for so long - and also an incredible team playing some great stuff. It's worrying me that he's been unable to improve his squad and the blame MUST lie at the man who is ultimately responsible for the coming and going of players. Cook had little problem making realistic signings (Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Kaka aside) and Marwood hasn't followed suit. He must deliver. Or leave.

Re: Brian Marwood

We need to get used to this way of doing things, despite what others are saying, FFP is kicking in.

As I have said before, if, going forward, we can only spend what we earn having vastly wealthy owners is going to be largely irrelevant as far as the transfer market is concerned. I think people need to grasp that fact. It's not Marwood's fault, it's not the owners fault, it's not Mancini's fault - it is simply the new reality that we are going to have to live with.

Re: Brian Marwood

My grandson's City team has got Messi in it already, then when he heard we were after Hazard and RVP he bought them, just like that, no problem, this is our offer, take it or do one. No haggling about Hazard's wages, that's what you're getting mate and you'll like it. If he can do that on FIFA they should sack Marwood and bring in my grandson at the Etihad. He'll sort the Sheikh and Kaldoon out, they can just shut up and pay up.

Yep , that's it in a nutshell .........

still , it's quite mystifying why Chelsea and PSG feel they can still spend millions .....
