Why is it that these two seem to get injured at the same time? We lost both of them in December and January and again now. We knew that Bridge, similar to RSC, was a typical Hughes 'crock' signing, but true to form based on our over dose of poor luck, Lescott will have missed a lot of games this year and at the same time as another 'front line' defender.

Personally, I would now put Barry at left back for the rest of the season and give Ireland his chance. As for centre back, maybe it's time for Onouha/Richards to step up and prove that they are the right stuff

No - it's more of a Barry at left back thread.

I'd rather see Barry stay in midfield with Vieira to be honest, it's time for experienced heads. Personally I'd play Sylvinho at left back, particularly against teams who don't have particularly fast right-wingers.

I really can't understand this Barry for left back idea. Yes I know he played there occasionally at the beginning of his career for Aston Villa, but he is a central midfielder, that is what we signed him as and that is what he should remain. We have Garrido, Sylvinho or even Gregg Cunningham who could fill the left back spot while Bridge is out. I know bringing one of those players in for the run in is far from ideal but that is unfortunately what happens when one of your first choice players is injured.

Taking one of your best midfielders out of position is just going to make a bad situation worse in my humble of opinion.

In what way was Bridge a 'crock' signing? He played pretty much every game last season when he arrived, and every game this season until his untimely injury against Chelsea.

He'd had a poor injury record at Chelsea before joining us and since arriving, he's missed more than most through injury.

LB - Garrido
CB - Kompany
CB - Onuoha/Richards
RB - Zabaleta/Richards/Onuoha
