But we keep Toure and give Zabaleta a new contract?

Thats Madness!

i think all our defenders are on parole to be quite honest as they seem to take it turns to make the most basic of errors, hard to work out which is the weakest link

The piece is so poorly written that you don't even have to consider the lack of sourcing to disregard it.

Anyone here could identify Lescott and Bridge as having played poorly this season, Lescott having cost far too much, and Santa Cruz being injury prone.

I do hope we're in for Chiellini though, he's ace, and can play at CB or LB. With Juventus in "crisis" and the Europa League at the moment, maybe we have a shot?

If im honest i will b gutted if they change lescott and bridge as tbh i like the fact we hav alot of british players in are startin 11 and robinho big fan of him first season he has now lost his passion and bellamy shud replace him and we shud send him to his beloved barca lol and im also gutted mark bowen and hughes hav left and wil b at the city of manchester to check on are new manager

bridge and lescott are good players. i trust capello in his judgement. lescott is particularly promising and any blue will have seen that over the last 4 games he played. there was a problem with the system and therefore the confidence of the players. form can vary but class is permanent.
i therefore applaud cook on his quick decision but wish it had been done on sunday. i think we would have finshed in the top 7 with hughes but time is a factor after 33 years and counting and lets not forget how hughes treated dunne.
i am concerned about the lack of success of corradi and bianchi. how well suited are italians to the epl. i can only think of zola and vialli as positive examples. an influx is sure to happen. also exciting is the prospect of more from the youth cup winning team being given a chance especially weiss.
and whats all this crap about city having no soul. soul doesnt come from the owner players and staff who come and go, it us fans and we are still here. we used to be respected for being loyal to a shit team but that is changing and outsiders dont like the idea of us being a winning club.

I thought Bridge has been pretty good this season, we've really missed him since his injury.

I have no problem with Bridge and Lescott being axed, but only if and when we have found better replacements. As opposed to the Richard Dunne approach - axe him only to see his replacement play no better than Dunne.

This. I for one am not the biggest fan of Bridge, everytime he is on the ball it makes me nervous, however, since he's been out we've seemed even worse in defence.

Lescott was just starting to find his form again and looked at ease before the injury, let's hope he get better and better once he gets back! As most people agree though I think its imperative that we get a new CB in Jan, not least as we'll be without Toure (African Nations) and Lescott (Injured) for the whole of Jan.
