Brighton (A) Post-Match Thread

Still trying to work out how they add time added on. Water break, 3 goals and about 9 subs I think and they add 2 minutes. Not that it matters of course but some games have 7 minutes so just at a loss with how they just add 2 minutes
It clearly depends on the scoreline, it annoyed me too, it was at least 6 minutes, but we were 5 up, so lets call it off early.

Walker sensational tonight and he’s been so switched on since he came back. The escorts have obviously been working!!
He was Rock-solid for the full 90

Sterling's been really getting good at that "Okay I'm gonna cut, and cut and cut and cut and... shoot"

I've never been fond of his dribbling (he doesn't have it imo), instead I like when he uses his close ball control and just runs with it and uses his speed.

When we lose we beat ourselves.

Whenever anyone loses a football match there will always be something you could have done differently/better.

This season there has been an overwhelming feeling of self destruction in certain games. I mean total fuckin brain farts. Ota at Norwich. Oleks the other day. We really do, literally, beat ourselves. When we lose those games we statistically dominate. We look better than the team who beat us. Every time though, I come on here and it’s the same feeling with everyone. How did we lose that game? What the fuck was *insert whoever* doing?

Ive never known a team to post such incredible numbers whilst losing 9 games and being 20 points behind the leaders.

I think it qualifies as the new typical city.

We will never shake it, even when we are absolutely brilliant.

Actually think we played just as well at Southampton but didnt take the chances and their keeper had a worldy, today we took a third of our chances and scored five , if we keep to our current form we are going to need an abacus for the Bournemouth and Norwich games , i can see a Huddersfield Town on the horizon. Pep will not let this team slack off in any shape or form , there are eighteen players fighting for games against the Goons and Real and there is a good chance Bournemouth & Norwich are already relegated when we play them , looking good for another century of league goals again.

Another solid performance from Garcia. He actually reminds of me of Nastasic before everything went wrong. He's understated and seems to read the game well, you can see why he's so highly rated.

A great all round team display today and Mendy starting to look like the player we hoped we were signing. We have to keep him fit for the cup games now.

Think that tonight, Pep picked our best starting eleven which I would select against Arsenal in the semi-final.
We played with a different pace and intensity tonight compared to any other away game.
The full backs bombed-on better than I can remember recently ? This has not often happened this season and created an uncertainty with Brighton scared to get bodies forward.
Jesus worked his socks off pulling defenders out of position. We could have scored 10 tonight, whereas against Southampton we ran out of ideas. We only used 2 subs as well.
Using all 5 subs tonight is essential if we do progress in both cups.
Well done tonight, a superb away performance with fast attacking play.
