I couldn't give a fuck about your vouch, whoever you are...we need support not lazy criticism like his, it's easy supporting city in recent years, now we hit a blip and dickheads like him shout their mouth off, the point stands, he can fuck off
I wish someone would explain to me how not criticising the team makes Lewis a better defender or turns the clock back for KDB and Walker.

If you can't bear fans criticising, then maybe a forum isn't for you. Perhaps you'd be better sitting in a quiet corner, with your fingers in your ears alternately shouting "La la la la la" and "City, City, City".

There is a difference between supporting team from stands to being able to discuss what folk think is currently going wrong though fella.

Place will be rocking for Spurs and I, like plenty of other blues, will be doing our part. In the meantime I won’t be getting all giddy about the current situation, it’s a bit bobbins but there are mitigating circumstances. It’ll sort.

I would be more concerned if we weren't suffering so much with injuries and not contending in these games at all.

The frustration is that we've played some great football at times and could've been clear in the Sporting game and yesterday. Even Spurs we missed out on penalties due to some absurd block from Bissouma.

It's not like we can't compete all of a sudden. We looked shot from 70 minutes yesterday because it's pretty much the same eleven that've played every game in the last month.

Brighton made 5 subs by the time they had equalised, bringing on their better players who were all ready to go.

I've posted the attack set up that leads to the equaliser below. They had just started to become very direct and overload our last line to get crosses in. Or play into the last line and look for combinations.

JSP half clears and then it's a total mess at the back post. He played fine but senior defenders aren't conceding this goal. None of that back four have played together hardly, let alone two of them out of their position.

We're also missing players like Grealish & Stones that establish the rhythm to stop teams pushing us in like this.

I think this can all be fixed by having a few players back and converting the chances we create. Maybe we'll make a small error without being punished, or the opposition will be punished for theirs - some of it is just dumb luck.

Name the ideal available recruits ?

Name the ideal available recruits ?
There are far better qualified people than all of us on here working at the club, who can find and sign available recruits. A club with our profile, resources and management should've done far better in the transfer market - especially in midfield - over the past 3 windows.

The only player of quality we've added in these windows who has enhanced the squad is Gvardiol, and that was in an area we had reasonably well covered. Was KDB "available" when we signed him? Was John Stones? Was Walker? Was Ruben? We've had ample opportunity to address the particular needs in midfield and done nothing bar add Nunes who's substandard and Gundo who's here for a testimonial year at age 34.

The line-ups that started the last four games wouldn’t compete for any title. But they aren’t our First XI. If we get key players back soon then all is not lost, but if we don’t win a trophy this season it will largely be because of injuries.

Losing seven or eight key players is decimation. Not only losing them as individuals, but the impact it has on other players who have to fill other roles.

Players will come in January and the summer and we go again.

Being cleared of the 115 will feel as good as any title win.

'Why destroy, when you can create?
We can have it all, or we can smash it all!
Why cant we.. work out our differences?
Why can't we ... work things out?
Little people ... why can't we all just ... get along?'

Jack Nicholson. Mars Attacks.

Now where's that chelsea top?

The worry for me was that Kev looked scared and I think he may realise himself that his race is run.
Watching yesterday's game I though to myself we are beginning to resemble the Rags. Can play alright for 15 or 20 minutes and then decend into the abyss for the rest of the game.
Let's hope this is not going to happen, the next series of games before the New Year will be crucial. With respect to the league and our ability to win it, I am feeling a bit like Kamala Harris must have felt at midnight last Tuesday.

There is no room for sentiment, KDB was a luxury we couldn't afford yesterday in the context of the game and the situation, that move cost us the game, that and the removal of Gundo. Sadly we have legends at the end of their time in terms of mobility, effectiveness and contracts, and the players we need to help them are sat in the stands, it's a perfect storm at the moment, luckily we should have a huge budget, plus the freeing up of some huge wages should see us being able to reinvent ourselves very quickly, hopefully under Pep, but he needs to commit for more than a year as players need to buy into a project. I still think we can have a good tilt in europe, and maybe focus our energies on that

2020 summer break fucked due to Covid.
2021 summer break shortened due to delayed Euro 2020 tournament.
2022 summer break shortened due to corrupt decision to hold Qatar 2022 in the middle of the season.
2023 summer break shortened due to Qatar 2022. You may have forgotten but both the FA Cup final win against the rags and the CL win in Istanbul were in June. The CL final is usually at the end of May. We also had the Super Cup and Club World Cup games added to our fixture list.
2024 summer break had the Euros and next summer will see an expanded Club World Cup.
Plus the stupid number of international games played when we have a squad of international class players.

That is how the fuck they can be mentally and physically exhausted in early November.
So the vast majority of that applies to all the other top clubs but it only seems to be us that are suffering

My other two questions stand...

What will they be like in early April?

What will they be like this time next year after that pointless club World Cup and 3 weeks holiday?

You're pathetic, and the people who liked that post.
Innit. I'm a melt at times but I'd never abandon City. Wish people would stop taking it all so personally. They don't lose on purpose in order to make us suffer for gods sake.

Shit like this happens. Deal with it, or be resigned to feel perpetually miserable. It sucks but we're all feeling shit about it.

The club needs the fans through more than ever. Anyone who turns on Pep at this stage needs their fucking head checking.

Your first point might be correct but I think we've had more players at a couple of major tournaments than other top clubs and we rely on a smaller squad.
As to what they'll be like in early April and after next summer, I think the answer is "fucked" or "even more fucked" if we continue with a small squad of ageing players some of whom are injury-prone.

I'm done with this team

Absolutely disgraceful stuff. Can't even do the basics right. Developed a weak mentality and can't hang onto a lead. Only a few players are doing their job but we've become bottle jobs!!!

Pep is a spent force. In reality, most managers get a good 10-15 year run if they're a top manager and that's their lot. Pep is probably there now.

Without Haalands goals we would be bottom half. And nobody can say we would play differently and players would make up the goals if he didn't play because they wouldn't, they're all performing shite. Haaland should be looking for his move away.

Every dog has its day and we have. We'll be pretty much on the same downward spiral the rags have been for 10 years.

But that's football. You can dominate forever. English football history tells us that.

I've had a great 3 years supporting city, since 2021 because I wanted to support Grealish but I've lost hope.

Well done Brighton. Great spirit. Definitely a team I might align myself with.
You’ll catch a few with that.
