Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

Some are missing the point. Yes, I think most of us acknowledge that it was a foul. The problem we have is
1. Haaland was grabbed/pushed (depending on your point of view) first, not as much but if he was it's a foul and therefore a penalty.
2. It was soft and 9 out of 10 similar goals are given - if it's a foul against the defender it's a foul 10 times out of 10.
3. It wasn't a "clear and obvious error" so VAR shouldn't have been involved at all. If it shouldn't have been scrutinised why should we accept it?

You have to admit the defender gave up very easily, he knew he was beaten and played the odds knowing he'd probably get the decision.
Utter rubbish.

We won the league. We've got 10 days before the fa cup. I'm ok with that performance and that fact that some guys had a better time than others!

I think we've all got some kind of syndrome (china, stockholm, munchausens?!) where we remember how bad we were against chelsea those games before the UCL final and we're fearing the worst again. I think we'll be fine - that was a complete tactical brain fuck by pep. This time round i think we're playing our best 11 twice - and we'll live with the results.
Why would we even take the risk? We've seen how hard it is to take our foot off the gas, & then trying to get back up to speed for a one off final.

Are our players so desperate for a title piss up, they can't wait two weeks?

We've got a chance to create history, so why're we risking it because our players wanna see the dry bottom of a keg? :-/

I work in a professional environment. Tell me why the fuck our squad can't contain themselves for TWO WEEKS, when they can drink themselves to death? WTF?

It's about standards & levels. If we were to lose the next three matches, what're you gonna say then? We were just unlucky? \0/

Mate, we're shooting ourselves in the foot because some of our players are prioritising booze over professionalism, when we could possibly be on the cusp of history!

Is risking all of that worth it because we couldn't resist having the mother of all piss ups for TWO WEEKS FFS? :-/
I tend to agree with that, however team harmony and a "piss up" could actually work, that's just as important. It's about team spirit and although not exactly professionalism as you rightly say, there's two weeks to go to the real deal and they'll be over it by then hopefully.

Were you there? No! BUT as a matter of fact our manager said some of the players went out to continue the celebrations, AFTER the celebrations at the Etihad & they drank Manchester dry!

Three days before a penultimate PL match. Two weeks before the FA Cup final & three weeks before the CL Final.

Are you telling me the mother of all title piss ups couldn't wait 23 days? If we lose the next three match, whatcha gonna say then fella?

Fuck me this has got to be a windup.

Did you see the lads tonight? Didn't look hungover to me. The lads back home will have been rested.

What you are really thinking is Grealish has been off his head and it's going to lose us the treble!

We might lose both finals but it will not be down to a few drinks 2-3 weeks before the games.

Bet you were one of those slagging him off for eating pizza in New York after the World Cup rather than training as you thought he had been so shite up to that point. How's his form been since the WC again?

I fully know the effect booze has at any level but nobody knows why they were not in the squad, you're only assuming that they were too pissed. Most teams would field a weakened side and rest players for a relatively meaningless game like this, happens all the time.
Pep has just said they went on elsewhere after the celebrations at the Etihad & drank Manchester dry!

With two finals looming & a chance to create history, why the flying fuck would we want to risk it all for a bleedin piss up, when our season's far from over? :-/

How did we fall off a cliff exactly. Rotated for Newcastle and won. Lost at Brighton through a dodgy red card.

Pep tends to learn from his errors. Look at the two away games in Madrid to see a prime example.

If you can't find focus for the FA Cup and CL final you may as well quit. The reason we lost the CL final was in the lineup and subsequent assault on D fucking

We literally fucking did, we lost to Chelsea in the fa semi and the champs league final. lets hope lessons are learned.

It's not risking anything 2 weeks before the next (important) game.
