Bristol City AWAY Ticket Details

I just qualified for Barcelona away off the back of my own points the first time too.
This season I've qualified for every game except Bournemouth away and Huddersfield away.
I suggest that if between Barcelona away and the present day, if you'd attended the same number of games as me, you'd have been OK for practically any tickets you wanted this season.

The system is far from perfect but it does reward sustained commitment.
In your case it's your lack of loyalty that's counting against you.
At the time of Barcelona away (the first time) you were in a great position, you just failed to go to enough games that you qualified for.
No restructuring of the system can account for you failing to turn up so often.

And you’d be right.

Buying my house and getting married got in the way of me being able to attend as much for 2 seasons in between then and now.

Well done on going to as many games as you can and I apologise for my lack of loyalty.

However, I’d still say that if the system was actually fair and the club did something to try and ensure that the Seasoncard on which the ticket was bought on actually attends the match I’d have more chance of being as loyal as you are. Nowadays I have very little opportunity to do so, in the premier league in particular.

To be honest I’m no longer even that arsed. Liverpool away last season was a pile of shit due to all the tourist, half & half scarve wearing tools in the away end and it was then when I became nowhere near as arsed as I’ve been in the past.

I’m happy to go to the games I qualify for as and when I can go (Saturdays). I’m not whinging about me not qualifying for Bristol city away. I’m only giving an opinion on the system and how in my eyes it’s manipulated, unfair and out of date.

I don't think anything will really change. There's probably no perceived benefit to the club to change the status quo as all away matches are sold out, even the likes of a midweek snowy trip to Swansea. If they actually cared about us fans, then they'd be transparent and tell us where tickets go. How many to corporate hospitality, how many to players family and friends, how many to sponsors, how many to supporters clubs and why they do it like this. I can honestly envisage the situation in less than five years time when people who are just scraping into qualifying for away tickets will be losing out to more corporates, sponsors, players/staff tickets etc.

Someone on Twitter trying to get hold of tickets has been advised to visit the Facebook page that advertises spares. "There's always loads on there" they were told.

I don't really care how the club distributes away tickets as long as there's some mechanism for checking that the person who bought the ticket is the one using it. Because when they did that for Euro aways, it was suddenly much easier to get a ticket on lower points. To me that's conclusive proof that the system was being abused.

I know there are some on here, even some who get all holier than thou when talking about loyalty, who buy tickets they can't use, getting the points then selling them on. I've benefited from that as have others, the people involved aren't acting out of greed and the tickets are going to genuine Blues. Also it's impossible to return tickets within 7 days of the game so there's only one choice if you're stuck with a spare when someone has to work or is ill. It would help if the club held a genuine dialogue with us.

The club don't really give a toss. Let's face it they have been taking an extra £50 a year off many people for nothing other than keeping your place in the "loyalty" point pecking order.
Wonder how many people still waste money on that? My lad does for one and it has done him no good whatsoever so he resorts to the buying off people who do have the points. They win, he wins as he gets to watch city away but long term he loses as do people on just below the required number of points criteria.
