British plates and European speed cameras..................

In 2019 I arrived home from a month in France to a French speeding tkt on my doormat.
It was closely followed by 2 others.
They had just started accessing the DVLA site in pan European agreement and were blitzing Brits just before we buggered off out of the EU.
I paid up.
£40 a blob.
So the international reach of speeding fines did come to pass.

The clue to what he was travelling in was the careful use of the verb 'drove'! Had he been hammering away in a bottom gear I would have chosen 'rode' or 'cycled' or, depending on the severity of the incline, I might have said 'staggered up the hill with his velocipede'! But had he been on his bike, he wouldn't have copped for the €80!
