Brittany Ferries

Careful on that causeway the tide comes in fast
Theres always masses of French collecting ,what they call food, out of the mud
I got a "gaffe" on the coast, but I always find Brittany ferries prices around 400 quid plus return ,that's extortionate and almost unavoidable anywhere on the western channel routes its the same
Would like to use them but its a cartel on those routes
Shush, don't spoil it. ;-)

That's why I use the Shuttle - around £125 return. OK, there is around 400 miles extra driving, but that's around 10 gallons extra at £5 per gallon. Plus an overnight around Calais or Boulogne at the start/end of the holiday and you're still considerably "in pocket" over the ferry price (which, I assume, includes a berth on an overnight ferry). I/we always used to include that in the overall holiday package, plus driving on empty motorways. And, as I said earlier, going to Brittany & Normandy, go via Le Havre and over the Pont de Normandie and stop for lunch at Honfleur. Can't beat it.

Almost every year!
Love wandering around its old bits.
Other places well worth visiting are the old walled part of St Malo and similar at Concarneau.
Trying coinciding a visit with one of the many medieval fetes these places hold. They are very entertaining.
