It's the morose tone all the commentators use when City have a near chance or do actually score a goal which grates with me, compared to the excitement and loudness when an opposing team no matter who they are and which country they play in generates.
It happened last night, if you watch the bt highlights they're so fucked off when City score but when Benzema had that header saved in the first half, Fletcher shot his load. Nobody but City fans want us to do well, if we play at home or abroad, and that's a fact.

I think the implication is that it basically only exists to push Crouch into a media career, hence the insane amount of promo the BBC give it.

With rumours of Lineker stepping down, I wouldn't be surprised if Chapman ends up on MOTD and Crouch is given MOTD2.
