Budget 2020

Just watching SKY News - their number cruncher says the new £30bn to fight Covid-19 is nothing of the sort - £18bn had already been revealed and is being double counted in effect. As ever the devil is in the detail with these things and in the next few days I am sure more holes will be punched in this budget announcement. I assume that the usual suspects have been on here deploring this spending spree because it will bankrupt the economy, we can't afford it etc etc .............course not because it was never about the message it was the messenger when spending was being denounced.

I was going off the live text to be fair.

Another project confirmed alongside today's budget is £25m towards Cottam Parkway station near Preston

There will be other schemes included in the funding confirmed today for the West Midlands, Bristol, West Yorkshire etc. but I guess these will be announced more locally and/or confirmed by Grant Shapp when the transport parts of the budget get debated in Parliament

Quite right too. He's a fucking wanker.

Got to hand it to Boris and Cummings he has knocked the stuffing out of Labour today with that budget.

The silence on here is almost deafening as well.

You must be delighted with most of the policies then, Bob?

Bearing in mind that they are the unaffordable labour policies that you Tories were bleating on about last year ,.... and you are now trying to claim the praise for them I am laughing .

But its the Conservatives.... they wont implement / achieve any of them ...

Just a quick question .... why is the tax payer funding improvements to a privatised rail system ? Surely we should be increasing the franchise fee for that?
