Anyone ever done this? I'm looking at doing so and have got a fairly solid idea of the parts I want but just wondered if any blues that had already built one had any tips?

I do it every 4 or 5 years. Check out overclock.net for friendly and knowledgeable community and all the info you need.

You get exactly the right machine to suit your requirements. The last one I knocked out as a full build was an AMD having scan linked voodhoo cards which back in the day was the dogs bollocks. As a rule I buy in Dells now for reliance with suffiecient ports for future expansion. On a fiscal level not a lot to choose from as prices have dropped so much.I used to be a regular at Bowlers comp mark.I inherited the lads comp and kept it's motherboard drives upgrading the graphics to 1050 ti with additional ram new midi case and a cooling fan. It's fine and dandy and a real pleasure to use.I currently have one in bits and two on the go.I used to despise Lego and Mechano as a child but that's because the in laws were too tight to buy me something that was already pre-built.Tighter than a ducks arse and would verily put a currant through a bacon slicer.Damn them into eternity and beyond.Pah !

I must say the 1050ti looks very nice. A good balance between cost and quality and it looks like my favoured choice right now

Thanks mate
I'll ask him, he'll probably get back to me around 5am when he turns off his PlayStation. Lad never steps away from a computer in work or at home.
Haha thanks mate

Its a cracking card mate and absolutely flays Doom.Bang for bucks it's a winner over the 1050 and little price differential too.

Always remember this word - compatibility.

Or in automotive terms, there's no point trying to fit 22" alloy wheels onto an unmodified 1960 Mini - try a set of 10" Minilites and the car will look and run much better!

Amazon product ASIN B01M2ZC61B Is probably the best TI available for the cost boss.

Its easier as u are just fitting things together, just gotta make sure stuff is compatable, especially the motherboard and processor. Ans make sure you have enough power in your psu to power everything!

Pcpartpicker seems very good at doing this job

That looks absolutely top

Cheers mate, looks lovely. Although I've read good things about GPUs having two fans.

Thanks mate

I've built my last 4(for gaming), while upgrading parts here and there. Allways buy a good motherboard. The number of people that upgrade everything bar their motherboard because it still turns on is quite high. You'll just end up with a bottleneck. If you're going to be spending a lot on graphics, memory etc, you'll just be wasting your money if the motherboard is crap. Also get a good power supply(Corsair for example), it's the last thing you want to be saving money on, especially if like me you leave your pc on all day. Oh and you can never have too many fans, the more fans the better.
