Either way, you're still paying the same amount. It's just how and when you decide to pay it.

Probably paying more, as most companies over the years gave a small discount for paying monthly DD.

Had the email from bulb,we were on 95 a month and i increased it to 130 last month to try and cushion the blow.They now want 188 a month,we will have to cut back elsewhere but feel for the people who are already up against it.

Had similar yesterday, was £120pm until Jan, I upped it myself to £150 in Feb, they upped it to £170 then yesterday the email stated £244pm, fucking mental but we're all in same boat. Have decided to replace our 22y/o combi boiler, am hoping it will save a bit on usage, so another £2k to pay on Friday, unlikely to be getting a holiday this year as things stand.

I got a similar message, before that I got a "memo" from the CEO explaining why costs were going up. I wrote back to him pointing out we were all electric, don't have a gas meter so why was I going to have to pay more? After all they sell themselves as a 100% renewable electricity provider from wind, solar and hydro.
Strangely enough, I've not had a reply.

You can alter it online if you think it’s too high.

It might leave her with a hefty excess come winter time if it isn’t though.

The standing charges increase is ridiculous and as I understand it this is for maintenance etc, the price for the actual gas and electric has increased I get that but the standing charges are the killer, whether you cut back or not you have to pay those charges that’s were they should be held to account.

Everyone needs to do a reading on the 31st of March so the bastards only charge you at reduced rate upto then as well.
