Bulgaria

I went Sunny Beach a few years ago and it was cheap as chips !! Weather was good but some parts really was run down and heard a few stories of prozzies taking over hotels !! Was a good cheap holiday and at the end of it we gave a batman who was sound some blip blaps we had left over and he told us that it was more than he got paid in a week !! Dancing bears in Sofia was a sad sight but I think they have got rid of all that now.

went to sunny beach last september, fantastic holiday. Great people, really cheap, good food (if you like meat!), and really good weather. Didnt see any bears or the like, just one guy with a monkey asking for money, which we obviously declined.

Nodding your head means no, and shaking your head means yes, learn this quickly. We had loads of women trying to seel us things, kept shaking our heads and wondered why they persisted, soon as we were told, that sorted that problem.

Only problem I found were the fruit sellers; they'll walk around with grapes give you one, you take it, and you'll be charged 10 lev a grape, and they're alway huges guys around 10-15 of them. I read a lot before I went so I never fell for the con fortunately, but they will give them to kids and demand payment from the parents. Having said this I was there for two weeks and saw this happen twice. Everything else was superb.

I'm off here in a few weeks. Staying a gf's dad's apartment. 10 min bus into sunny beach I think.

Apparently still dead cheap, less that a quid for a beer etc. Bring it on!

Generally 1 Lev per beer, and they're a lot bigger than pints. Most places do happy hour 2 for 1. If you go to Sunny Beach, go to the cocktail bar on the main front called The Beach, or something similar. 2 for 1 on cocktails all night, each one is 3 lev (£1.50ish), they're fooking gorgeous, and you can sit on the beach on some excellente sofas.

went on a lads holiday a couple of years ago! was fuckin amazing!! best two weeks of my life! cheap booze, plenty of horny foreign and English birds what more do you want?

But do watch out for the grape sellers - I woke up on a beach after a night out, wearing just my boxers and a box of grapes next to me.... Seriously I cannot remember anything from the previous night and swear to this day I must have had my drink spiked! but over all such a good laugh!! Go to Club Lazur if your going for the clubs - its bloody massive and full off horny sweedish ladies ;)

Why go for Sweedish ladies when you are in Bulgaria? Bulgarians are much better looking. Just watch out for gypsies! When i go back to my homeland i usually stay away from those places. I like the history so i visit the historical sites. Very good indeed. We got a lot of that. Everything is dead cheap for foreigns.

Op, make sure you visit Old nessebar. its great little historical city. One of the oldest cities in Europe. Very very interesting place. i loved it there.

Thats some great advice!

The grape sellers/bear man/monkey man are mostly gypsies. They are brave when in groups but if you are around other people there is nothing to fear. Just ignore them. Don't even look at them :) .

.

Nessebar was a superb day out. Went there 3 or 4 times. Some buildings still had bullet holes in the walls, beautiful buildings, gorgeous churches and some nice places to get some shopping done.
