I`d rather watch paint dry.
Me too! The nonsense on the radio about ‘who is your German team?’
I was just looking in Off Topic and noticed there was an Angling Thread. I have little to no interest in fishing, so I neither went in to the thread or felt the need to post in the thread that I didn't like fishing.

That was more to give you something to do whilst the Premier League was suspended.

The Bundesliga is a good concept. Ticket prices affordable, free train travel on match day etc. I’d say Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are two of the best teams I’ve seen at City.

Germany is an enjoyable visit.

Does anybody know since when Dortmund fans have been referred to as the yellow wall ?

I’m watching highlights of Dortmund v Juve in the 97 CL final and as one who despises modern commentators with their bucketloads of cliches thrown around willy nilly I’m paranoid that a voiceover has been added to the original footage. At one point he says “the yellow wall on tour” which is the kind of trite nonsense I’d expect nowadays but not back then.

Trite.

Great word!

It's been a while and due to their home stand.

It was like that back in the 1980's when I lived and worked out there, it wasn't as big a stand then, but it was still pretty big, and quite impressive. I even stood on there as an away fan (supporting another German team), but I kept my mouth shut.

Nothing changes. Ingolstadt are still bad [See the below for my mare of a day].

I watched that, too. Only that it was shown on Bavarian states TV - in difference to you I liked it especially because of the quality of play of the Bayern young ones. It is interesting how they shifted their season - from rank 16 with 22 points from 19 matches before Xmas to rank 1 in the Rückrundentabelle (table of the second part of the season) with now 25 points after 10 matches. But that is probably the problem that you have with the implementation of new youngsters every season in a U23 team.

But the table is that close - Ingolstadt only 2 points behind 2nd and 3 behind 1st and with the second best goal differences - everything is possible. And Bayern II cannot get promoted - only take points of the other teams...

I liked the short overview in this youtube video that shows how tactics have changed from Kovac to Flick. It is not just tactics - the players really seem to love working with him.

Tonight Freiburg plays against Gladbach. Gladbach needs the points to still be in the race for the CL spots - but matches against Freiburg are never easy.

I watched your young team beat Uerdingen in January. They looked good. Good following as well considering the distance and watching 3rd Division football.

I suspect most of those supporters will have been based in NRW. Similar to Liverpool and United here (and to an increasing degree City), Bayern and Dortmund have supporters all over the country (and world)

I pondered that and it's probably true but (and I'm showing my geek off here) I saw a big banner that I've seen at Bayern home games, City at the Etihad in the Champs League and even German matches. The banner says RED MUNICHS. I notice these things for reasons I'll never know. I've been spotting the same Wolves flag on telly at the Glastonbury festival for well over 20 years.
