hi,iv got a problem that's doing my head in,we've got a mini hifi system that's as always played my own compilation MP3 cd's,never had a problem until recently when iv tried making a few new compilations,my hifi system on all the new discs iv made just wont play them and states " unknown disc ".Iv always used CD-R
im burning them the same way as iv been doing for about 10 years, all my old MP3's still work on my system but none of my recent ones,iv used burnaware, windows media player and several other burning software all to no avail.

a couple of weeks ago I took a memory stick to my dads, transferred mp3's onto his laptop, burned a copy,he has a mini hifi system too,it worked on his system,i brought it home and tried it on mine and damn," unkown disc " again grrrrrrrrrr.

I simply don't understand ,it plays loads of my old mp3 cd's ,help anyone ?

cheers

Maybe your burner isn't functioning correctly anymore yet telling you its a successful burn? Buy an external burner usb and try it on there, take it back if it doesn't work, or just install a new internal writer if it's a desktop, they're less than 20quid these days

After x amount of burns they start to fail. 10 years seems to have done well

I use Nero for burning data, mp3, dvd etc
