Burton Albion (a) Post Match Thread

Pep has just described the pitch as dangerous and it was virtually impossible to play "Guardiola football" on that surface. The commentary team on the TV said at one point that the game would not have started had the pitch been as slippery at kick off time. I think also that it was difficult to play City's normal game at that ground because it was too small - we couldn't stretch them across the field so they were always compact. So, hard to read too much into the game tonight apart from the fact that we have some really talented youngsters. Well done to the kids!

Sterling Was Absolutely Awful - The Daily Mail headline.
Sane Might as Well Stayed at Home - Is He On His Way Out ? - The Sun headline.

So that challenge on Nmecha then...

V.a.r. looking at it.

That's not a penalty in a typical Prem game ?

Stonewall that. Didn’t realise VAR was on duty tonight. Presumably the guys in the caravan took pity on Burton. Underlines my view that VAR only adds a further layer of subjectivity and fails in its stated aims of righting wrong decisions
