Bush chides Beijing over rights

George Bush urges China to improve its human rights records
US President George W Bush has expressed "deep concerns" over China's human rights record in a speech on the eve of the Beijing Olympics.

"The US believes the people of China deserve the fundamental liberty that is the natural right of all human beings," he said in the Thai capital Bangkok

two words georgie boy, guantanamo bay...

oh.....stonerblue, you forgot! Americans are ordained by god to torture so its okay.

Putting aside the obvious hypocrisy and double standards of Bush's statement, he's right to have 'deep concerns'. I, for one, can't believe that the Olympics have been given to a country like China. The way they actively oppress their own people, punish and torture them if they dain to disagree with the party line, is shocking. How the Olympics thought it was an acceptable decision to 'reward' them with such a prestigious event is beyond me.
