Buying a new TV

Got a panasonic LED 3d smart TV from John Lewis last year 47" and quality for under a grand

Look at the contrast and also full HD not HD ready

Problem with LED is you will need a sound bar as sound is tinny

Samsung & Sony are both v good

maybe consider what warranty is on each telly

Im not keen on LG products, had problems with them

I bought a Viano 48" HD LED from K Mart for $400 (200 quids) 2 years ago and its great

When it comes to electrical items I just buy cheap shit and when it breaks down I just buy a new one, I dont bother with repairs

Muffin or barm?
iPhone or Android?
Mac or pc?

If you get 50 replies i doubt that there'll be two posters who recommend the same tv ;-)

You need to do some research yourself - find out what everything is and have a think if you want/need it.

Go to Richer Sounds or another audio visual specialist and have a chat with them - in my experience Currys 'advisors' are nothing more than order takers who are only interested in getting a sale and will simply try and get as much out of you as possible rather than let you walk out with what you really need.

Asda were doing a Polaroid 50" LED for around £350 last week. Looked great value.
They are piss poor, stick with Panasonic,lg or Samsung, was talking to a bloke a while back who worked for curry's told me to avoid Sony they have other companies making their TV's and so on, as they are solely concentrating on the PlayStation...
