Absolute disaster if we don't claim fourth?

Have you forgotten where we finished last season? And yet we still managed to attract the likes of 13-goal Emmanuel Adebayor who by his own admission has had a stop-start season and 28-goal and talisman Carlos Tevez and people are worried we won't be able to attract the top players? We acquired these after we finished 10th, we're 5th right now and challenging for 4th. If we didn't cock up with all them draws we'd be laughing right now and be challenging for 3rd or even 2nd. We've not had a stable defence through injuries either!

Whether Mancini stays or goes, whatever players leave or come in doesn't matter so much to me. What matters to me and should be of greater importance to people is the direction of this football club and regardless of whether we get fourth or fall short to a spurs side that have came up with some spectacular and unexpected results lately should not and in my opinion will not effect our transfer plans that dramatically. Yes, Champions League would be nice but the sky shouldn't be bloody falling should we fail to get it!

We've lost at home twice all season. We've beat the top sides consistently and if we work on beating the crap sides we'll be right up there next season. The future is still bright so relax and enjoy the ride. Good times are still ahead.
 
like I said a few days ago, this beats a relegation scrap.

We are an ungrateful bunch. We are about to qualify for Europe (properly) and want our cake and eat it.

I'll be ecstatic if we get 4th, if not we'll be okay anyway.
 
great post, and a lot of your points ring very true. but i think what the problem is with us fans, and i'm included in this is the fact we always let ourselves down when we need it the most, and there are some fans that get fed up and hugely impatient, when we can go out and thump chelsea 4-2 and then lose 2-1 to hull or 1-0 to a united team there for the taking. also we want to prove the press and other teams wrong that we can actually achieve top honours. we just have to grasp this opportunity. also top players will only come if we achieve top 4, nothing less. adebayor, tevez and co joined because there was the vision of achieving top 4 this season

but we have been a work in progress for quite a few years,the buying up off alot of young talent up & down the country for relatively small fees ie the likes off lennon & bale & its seems to be paying off,we may not get 4th this year,but rest assured we will be even stronger next year,we have the youngest team in the premership 1st 11 & can only improve,we have taken step backwards with management changes to be where we are now after our 2 5th placed finishes & we will be around for quite a bit of time now

thats an intelligent response fella i can understand your reasons for hating redknapp,some of the fans etc, but the players? we are 1 off the fairest sides in the country that doesnt try to spoil games,always respecting the refs,however bad they are,
 
The difference between now and the beginning of the season when 6th looked good, is that we now know that 4th was do-able all along. Perhaps better when we take that run of weak draws under MH into account.
 
Because we're growing so fast there's bound to be growing pains associated with it. The big decision is the manager but the major factor which will dictate the outcome/decision is whether we achieve the stretch target of 4th this season.

Time will tell.



The Big-Picture/future is still very positive though.

True, although you lot have spent a lot of dosh on proven players as well. To be honest you lot are one of the best teams to watch in the prem. Dont get me wrong i hope you collapse over the next 4 games but i am sure we will both be in the battle next year and for years to come. The problem we have as fans of MCFC is the amount of prolonged shite we have endured over recent years makes us (well some) a lot less patient. Some on here will just rip into you whatever you say or however unbiased and logical you say it.
If we dont get 4th this year then i am almost certain we will next year. Either way, just splitting the sky4 monopoly can only be good for football. Put it this way, whoever gets that 4th spot, i hope go on and stun a few in champs league and make the rest sit up and listen. I just hope its us.
 
At last a little common sense, the world won't stop if we finish 5th. But I will be miffed if the scousers overtake us.

I am sorry but is this the same group of players who are second only to the rags with their rugby tackles when the opposition counter attack to give us time to get back???

what are you on about? rugby tackles? your talking absolute nonsense, we are too soft for my liking,we dont ever give refs a hard time & we have had some off the most shocking decisions ever against us when playing the top 4 over recent seasons, 1 sending off this year & you think we play like that. note to you also.let me tell you a secret 99% off spurs fans aint jewish & if they were so what
 
I tell you another secret Arsenal have more Jewish fans than Tottenham.

This season may be different but I can still assure you that I have seen "rugby" style tackles or anything involving arms and not feet.

I think Spurs deserve the 4th spot at least they look like they are trying, unlike saturdays effort by City!
